Anyone else just sit and think how great it's been to be an LSU fan?

I was born in 1989. Since my birth year, the following has happened to LSU sports:
Football:
3 national titles (4 appearances)
5 SEC titles (7 appearances)
2 first overall picks
Baseball:
7 national titles
17 Omaha appearances
11 SEC regular season championships
11 SEC tourney championships
2 first overall picks
Mens Hoops:
1 Final Four
5 SEC regular season championships
2 first overall picks
Womens Hoops:
1 national title
6 Final Fours
3 SEC regular season championships
2 SEC tourney championships
1 first overall pick
Softball:
6 OKC appearances
5 SEC regular season championships
5 SEC tourney championships
And that's only the blimp view of the surface. Numerous individual player and coach awards across multiple sports, many other 1st round picks and big contributors outside the 1st round in multiple sports, a lot of track titles, a lot of high finishes in gymnastics, a lot of individual success at the pro and Olympic levels in multiple sports and events, and a heavy representation in sports media in multiple sports and networks.
There've been some low and frustrating points in different periods in the different sports, but overall I can 100% say I am damn glad to be a Tiger fan and alum and wouldn't have it any other way. We are blessed, and there's more still to come.

If only the administration wasn’t hoodwinked by an imaginary dark cloud over the men’s basketball program

Everyday and then I laugh of how miserable it must be to be an Aggie LOL

It’s always good to be a Tiger fan… but lately, it’s been great.

Yeah that could be better. But even in basketball, I grew up on Pete's instructional tapes on ball handling and Shaq is the most world-wide known alum we have and he reps us hard even on Inside the NBA (funny how 3/4 of those guys are SEC reps). So we still at least have some presence there.
Wouldn't it just be the damnedest thing if MM did a complete total turnaround and made a deep run next year and totally redeemed himself? I so want that to happen.

I started as a fan when I was a kid back in the late 70's. I had nobody in my family that followed LSU. Just started watching them on a old 13 inch black and white.
Got excited we were going to play Nebraska in a bowl game. We would start out great than them damn corn-fed kids would just wear us down.
My how the tables have turned. Wished our 2019 team could go back in time and play Nebraska or Oklahoma of those eras. We would knock the taste out of their mouth with how we play now. Wish bone what offense? How about joey B. Throwing for 500 yards at halftime against that shite

I will not tout Ben Simmons being drafted first as an LSU accomplishment

It was. JaMarcus was a massive bust but he is still claimed.

I think his point wasn’t that he was a bust professionally.
But that Ben Simmons was constantly described as not being a team player while here at LSU. An attitude that frankly apparently continued in the pros.

Thank You, Scott Woodward, finally a competent AD who also is a home grown Tiger.

It’s been pretty great… with championships, accolades for players… setting records… so many great players to come through LSU with the big 3 major sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball)
Greatful I was born in Louisiana and grew up an LSU fan bc of my passion for sports...
I know a lot of people crap on the state (with good reason sometimes) but it was great growing up a fan and going to all the games… nothing quite like it. Feel blessed for what it meant to me and those I’m close with…

If we can just get men's basketball back to where it should be, we'll be riding high.....

Yeah! But I'm wondering why it took so long for the Neanderthals, who once ran LSU's Athletic Dept., to pick a winner. I had to endure Cholly Mac to Dinardo, before Emert came in and changed the dynamics.
Once Saban arrived, life has been a party.

I would consider Skip Bertman a competent AD.

Had the discussion with my oldest son on the way to work this morning. Definitely great to be a tiger fan these days and with the coaches we have in place i expect it to continue. Best part i live in gator nation and their daddy now is: LSU. They are some of the most obnoxious fans out here but we own their asses of late.

I was born in 81. I've experienced a lot of great moments as an LSU fan. My only regret is that I hadn't "discovered" LSU sports prior to the latter part of Mt HS years. That said, my first year at LSU was the season DiNardo was fired. Sitting through that season has definitely helped me appreciate the following 20-sonething years.

Just for me personally, I’m a pretty massive sports fan in general. Just counting this century, first going from 2000 through 2011, starting with the 2000 LSU Tigers baseball team, every major team I root for has won a championship. 4 of the 6 won multiple championships in just that time frame. Through 2023 it’s been 13 championships.
Saints 2009
Dallas Mavericks 2011
St. Louis Cardinals 2006, 2011
LSU Baseball 2000, 2009, 2023
LSU Football 2003, 2007, 2019
North Carolina Tar Heels Men’s basketball 2005, 2009, 2017
Oh and first year I officially decided to get into Premier League soccer, I randomly chose Manchester City not knowing they won it two years earlier. They won it my first year following them in 2013-14, and have won 5 more since then. Also won Champions League and a Treble.
Oh and I got to watch Roger Federer play tennis.

If you were born in the 80s or 90s you've been on an incredible ride.
So many students that got to enjoy a championship while in school, fantastic stuff.
Throw in the Saints Superbowl, Stros 'ships and great seasons and at least a lot of high profile NBA players since it has returned to NOLA and we are living the sports good life.

You and Victor Wembanyama both.

The guy is a good coach. Just needs to settle things and build up the program.
