I think Harris is more of a problem than the scheme. With Harris at QB we can't run a wide open attack he's just not good enough with his decision making or accuracy.

The best series Harris had at LSU was when he was a freshman against MsSt. Last time he ran a complete series out of a 4 WR set. Once Miles got his hands on Harris he ruined the kid.

YUP... Miles is trying to change how he knows how to play the game.... BUT he still needs to quit putting his WR's in harms way with all those high throws....

I dont.

He needs to shoulder some of the blame. Its really that simple.

Yes he got flushed and hit in the backfield half of the time, but the other half he did not. He needs to settle down and be accurate. Thats all the play calling ask for.

Yes. WR's have not helped him out much last season or this past game, we could put him in better situations, and QB's tend to get WAY too much of the blame for losses as well as credit for victory. He is a great kid with immense talent and deserves better.

I don't think thats a fair comparison, LSU was in desperation mode and MSU thought the game was over. I don't remember for certain but I'm pretty sure that MSU had backups in. When you're in that situation you can let it fly bc turnovers don't affect the outcome, it's pretty much over to begin with

ETA: One of his touchdowns was an awful throw that the DB got lost on and couldn't find the ball, we got lucky and scored on it

BH is a good kid, CLM has to put him in better situation. How about rolling him out of the pocket, letting him use his legs, things like that. I love the play action on 3rd and long, that always gets me.

Damn right I feel bad for him. Just like I feel bad for Lee, Jefferson and Jennings. Les goes into these high school kids houses and promises them a future in football. They work their whole life to get to the NFL then they're failed by their coaches in the final and most important step.

They're failed by the same men who promised to take care of them and teach them what they need to know.

And it's fricked up. Those kids deserve better

I did until I saw him screaming at other players when they came off the field. That's a good way to get sacked every pass play when the lineman get pissed and say frick this guy.

you obviously dont understand the concept of leadership as it applies to team dynamics friend.

Do I feel bad that he is making mistakes, no. Do I feel bad that he isn't getting any coaching, yes. As far as people attacking him on twitter, they should go jump off a cliff. But they did the same for Jamarcus, Lee, JJ, Mettenburger, Jennings, etc.

He has to control what he can control, but my God, he's asked to make shite out of shite sandwich all the time. 1 or 2 WR routes. No easy throws. No easy progressions. We probably run the most simplistic, yet difficult to execute passing game in CFB.

That is the point I am making why is a 4 wr set considered desperation mode???? Miles has ruined you also.

You maybe right but he was a true freshman a back up himself and yet he made some amazing throws.

If we would have let it fly when we were tied 0-0 we may not have been playing from behind the whole game against Wisconsin. Everyone of Miles QBs tend to have this deer in headlights stare because they are scared to death to throw a pick. If Miles would let these guys get loose and throw the ball they would not be so timid.

Let him run the shotgun with Fornette beside him and at least 3 receivers and see what he can do. He is obviously not an under center type QB. Really, could it be any worse to let him try the shotgun for a half or so.

Nice link. Look at the second throw for all you need to know about the problems from this staff. Right handed QB with spotty accuracy rolls to his left to make a throw on the run. Perfect example of a staff that doesn't put players in a position to win.

I do feel for the kid. Matter of fact any of those players on offense. What can they do but pray for luck because the HC is a stubborn basket case. I feel for alot of those kids. One of those kids, LF, should have won the Heisman last year and become the 2nd LSU to get it. Instead the season ended a disaster for him.

I feel bad that Harris doesn't have good pass protection. I feel bad that blocks were missed on a perfectly called screen play. I feel bad that WR's dropped good passes.

I think anyone who puts 100% of the blame on Harris is just ignorant.

I watched him closely on Saturday, and when offense was on sidelines, Harris was on the other end of field/bench. Not once did he talk with online, rbs, or WRs. To me that means he doesn't have it mentally to be an average QB. He never studied the defense or schemed with coaches. I also didn't see Cam talking to him once.
From a person who watches Saints play every Sunday, Drew Bree's is never not scheming with teammates or studying a playbook/pics of defenses when off the field.

I'm not at all comparing Bree's and Harris, but is something that anybody can do, and in my mind any QB should do.

Eta... I still think the scheme and play calling is the main problem. Although it seems the scheme/play calling is hand cuffed because of QB inability.

Not so sure about that, different is not always a good thing.

Watch the link that semperfitolsu posted.

Year to year to year there's not enough improvement.

We can play the blame game all day but, LSU aint get'n it done.

You can blame the coaches but they aren't the ones out on the field. He needs to make the plays that they call or step aside and let someone else do the job.
