Dale was on Jimmy Ott show and Jimmy said it was nice to see him back sitting courtside for Tiger games, Daddy said he always wanted to sit courtside for every LSU game but the former coach never made him feel welcome. He said Trent has embraced him and all former coaches/players.

That surprises me. Brady seems like such a warm guy.

I was never a big Brady fan, but what exactly will make Dale feel "welcomed". Sounds like a guy who craves the attention.

Brady was insecure. Tying the present into the glory days in the past goes a long way to reconnecting to tradition. LSU has a lot of basketball tradition that seems to have been broken off by Brady.

That's a shocker. Considering he took over Dale's mess and dealing with probation, not even knowing if we could actually play in the SEC Tournament in his first year, the NCAA-SEC did allow us to make the trip to Atlanta that year. Brady did have Dale fly with the team to Kentucky a few years when they honored him in Lexington, so saying he totally alieniated him from the program is complete BS.

And no, I'm not a Brady supporter, he ran his course at LSU, he was good for LSU at the time, did some nice things against all odds. It was time for John to move on and for us to get a coach that knows how to build and mantain a consistant program.

Trent Johnson really made a wise move when he sent out letters to every former player they could track down. It's been amazing to see many former players at games this season that were MIA the last decade. LSU has a rich basketball history and it should be embraced by the head man.

I really like Dale Brown. He is an amazing self promoter and he built the LSU program basically from the ground up. He's a master motivator and an amazing public speaker. He was a pretty good coach but an amazing motivator. My problem with coach Brown is that he was a notorious rule breaker but seemed shocked when the NCAA came down on him. I agree with him about the NCAA. It is a bunch of Gestapo Bastards. However, people seem to forgive him b/c he was a Robin Hood type guy. It was like robbing the rich (NCAA) to give to the poor (his players)...I'm sure most coaches were doing the same stuff Dale did but when you fight the NCAA you won't win.

Stro,
I found it comical when I saw that poll on the Raycom game last night asking "which school, LSU or Tennessee, has a greater basketball history?"...Tennessee had about 70% of vote.

I agree, Trent Johnson is just the new breat of life we needed. Some people are just winners and know how to get it done. The guy is total class isn't in a popularity contest, or just gives lip service to talk about things. He was pissed Xavier outrebounded us 40-27, next game out, we owned the boards last night.

I was thinking the same thing. Only logically conclusion, obviously more UT fans were watching and felt like texting.

What a joke and I laughed out loud as well. I don't know a lot about UT but I'm assuming it's not even close.

Im a fan of coaches who promote the program. I like the guys who are visable. I love guys like Dale Brown, Bruce Pearl etc. I also love what Trent Johnson has done. He's a quiet warrior. He doesn't give you good soundbites. He doesn't put up purple and gold nets. Doesn't rile up the fans. He just gets it done. It has been a long time since I've seen an LSU basketball team play as physical as that team did last night. They busted arse. They fought for every loose ball and rebound. They were flat out intense

Like what? You act as if Brady was deaf and won 4 NC's recruiting all blind players.

Brady, the hick from McComb made more money in his time at LSU than he will ever make again, was handed the keys to a program that had success, a good arena, good La. ball players at his doorstep and he still got drummed year,in and year out by Ole Miss.

These are facts a holes......Brady was lucky to get the job, made more money off LSU than he ever should have, and had a c-sucker personality.

He may have kept his job if hadn't been such a c-sucker to get along with. But no, he made $1 mil a year signing ineligible players with his one scholarship and then complaining about his team's lack of depth. He got what he deserved and then some. No way he should have ever made a $1 mil a year.

Now move on. Brady was a dick....everyone knows it.

People would have had more sympathy for Brady if he were more of a people person. Brady was a horrible winner if that makes sense. When his teams were winning he had such a pompous attitude. When they were losing he'd blame fans for not going to games.
