Like what? You act as if Brady was deaf and won 4 NC's recruiting all blind players.
For starters, we won a share of the SEC overall Title in 2000, along with a Sweet 16 appearance when we were still under major NCAA sanctions. Way ahead of schedule. Cincy paid players a lot more than what Lester recieved, and didn't get half the sanctions we received.

Not sure where you are going with that. Your class is a real attribute to your post. Thanks.

he still got drummed year,in and year out by Ole Miss.
Riiight, you should check to see who handed Ole Miss their worst lost in the history of the Tad Pad.

Now move on. Brady was a dick....everyone knows it.
Hello-

And no, I'm not a Brady supporter, he ran his course at LSU, he was good for LSU at the time, did some nice things against all odds. It was time for John to move on and for us to get a coach that knows how to build and mantain a consistant program
You obviously really don't know what you are talking about. Why you don't name the people that were lined up and wanted to come to Baton Rouge for the LSU job back when Brady took it.

I had no problem with Brady personally. He did an okay job but he wasn't a people person, he recruited some ok players who were awful people and therefore a lot of them left.
Posted on 1/29/09 at 8:31 pm to TigerJohn
He relied on NBA draft picks to be successful. Never could maintain any stability what so ever. Definately not a person that could reach out to fanbase and keep us going. And sure, was Brady over his head? Of course, LSU was a dream job for him. We were just in such bad a shape, he had the ties to Joe Dean, etc from his Mississippi State days,etc....he was good for LSU at the time, came in and had some success really early. I hope he bounces back to a BCS type school soon, he learned a lot here, hopefully when he gets a chance again, he'll do some things differently.

He doesn't have the personality to succeed at a major school. He definately had an inferiority complex to football. Most bball coaches at football schools do. As I said earlier, he didn't handle success well. When LSU was winning he was a jerk. When the Tigers were losing people didn't feel bad for him

You quoted your own post doofus.
No one wanted the job to come and work for Joe Dean.....you are correct. So we end up witha dick from McComb.

I'm just glad we were able to have a few flash in the pan type seasons with the Final Four.....Gottfried at Alabama really didn't accomplish much outside the Elite 8 appearance. Any word on names being thrown out for the job in Tuscaloosa...or Athens?

I've heard people mention Anthony Grant and Mike Anderson. I think either would be great for Alabama. Anderson would be a great fit. He's got a good gig at Mizzou but he is from B'ham and has a history in the SEC

Last year I really liked what I heard about Anthony Grant....I don't know if he's waiting for a Big East/ACC job or what....
Exactly, Mike Anderson with his time at UAB, etc.
It'll be interesting to see who lands there, Alabama is a very underrated job, as you know the list of players that have come out of there.

The SEC has seen it's share of mediocre coaches since 2000. John Brady, Mark Gottfried, Jeff Lebo, Stan Heath, Buzz Peterson, Dennis Felton....
look at the SEC records of these coaches
Brady: 74-93
Gottfried: 83-82
Lebo: 19-45
Heath: 31-49
Peterson: 29-35

Daddy Dale also said he has a mia report out on Chris Jackson, says ever since he relocated to Atlanta b/c of hurricane damage he hasnt been able to contact him. Says he still loves kid and he's a lil misunderstood, misguided on anthem thing.

I've wondered how LSU fans would react to MAR returing to the Maravich Center for the 100 year celebration

Does anyone remember when Brady turned over his new Tahoe in the median. He was hanging upside down and people came to help. He said he heard some guy just outside his wreck holler "Come look! It's John Brady"
Posted on 1/29/09 at 10:14 pm to RogerTheShrubber
No we don't. A few of the greatest players of all time but that's not basketball tradition.

does that mean. If you are saying that he recruited too many players that were too good and were going to be drafted, therefore they left early, you are a dumbass. If that's not what you meant, ignore the above.

How many of those coaches listed inherited a moribund program under CAA investigation?
How many of those coaches had their program placed under draconian sanctions which effectively impacted their program for five years?
Which of those coaches took their team to the Final Four?
Which of these coaches won 2 SEC titles, 3 SEC West crowns and also went to the Sweet 16? Yea, I know Gottfried did a couple of those things, but he pales in comparison to Brady.
The effects of NCAA sanctions lasted through 2003 but that year marked the turning point as the program headed upward. From 2003-2007 the SEC record was 47-33 with a Final Four, SEC title and 2 West crowns.
So the point you attempted to was not well made.

Trent Johnson really made a wise move when he sent out letters to every former player they could track down. It's been amazing to see many former players at games this season that were MIA the last decade
What players do you regularly see at the games that you did not see before. Collis Temple, Jr.,
Collis III, Rudy Macklin, Ricky Blanton and Ed Leblanc have been regular attendees duting Brady's tenure. Who else can you identify?

" was handed the keys to a program that had success,"
like 6 years before. He was actually handed a program in shambles and on major probation
"a good arena"
Are we talking about the Arkansas St job now? I know you aren't referring to the PMAC
"good La. ball players at his doorstep "
who he couldn't offer all scholarships to b/c of the cheating coach before him
"got drummed year,in and year out by Ole Miss."
"These are facts a holes"
no, actually none of them are

I would hope these guys would be regulars at games the last 4 years since their son/brother plays for the Tigers.

seeing ole dale on tv brings back memorys from the old days with jackson, oneal, martin ,carter, and macklin. we didn't win a nc game but they were sure fun to watch. i hope trent j. can bring bb back to lsu and make us a respectable contender again. brady had some good players but we just couldn't seem to repeat a good season.
