Anyone believe Miles is coming back next season?

Me either...so why the continual bashing of the guy and the program he's run for the past 11 seasons at this point? Those that have wanted him gone for years ought to be happy as frick right now. Instead, there is just a continued stream of justifications for getting rid of him.
At this point, for what? Miles is a gone pecan. Going on and on about how shitty you think he's been the whole time does what exactly for the program you're hoping rebounds?
I'm all about the program...always have been. And while I do like Les Miles, I've tired of his offensive style (I said as much after the BAMA loss for anyone that was watching) and I've CERTAINLY tired of being made miserable by my fellow LSU fans that have complained this whole time.
I'm on board...he's going.
Now? I'm gearing up to be excited about the replacement, whoever that may be. I started following LSU under Stovall and have been hopeful with each and every hire that the new coach would come in and outshine the previous one. Hopefully whoever it is earns that excitement and betters Miles' record. I'm assuming we all hope that, right?
But...what's to be gained by pissing on Miles' LSU grave today?

I don't get it either.

Yeah, there are some posters that are relentlessly posting any slight thing that can be pointed out as a negative while the man heads out the door. Makes no sense.

So in your mind, and I'm not trolling you at all, you are basing your assessment on what exactly? Not saying you're wrong, but I'm a bit surprised everyone and their dog is convinced 100% he is out the door.

I'm not seeing "continual bashing."

He is gone one way or another. I think it is time, but I'm not going to bash the guy. Personally, I enjoyed his time here. I wish him the best.

I believe he is coming back, and for the better.

Probably not and I bet he won't come back for the 10 year anniversary of the 2007 Championship celebration either.

Yes, Les Miles will be back next season to coach the LSU Tigers to the NCAA championship - Book it!

The continued denigration is driven by at least three factors:
(1) No formal announcement has been made. Inference and deduction aside, the fan base is pervaded by uncertainty. Numerous posters here insist he will return or, at the least, argue he is entitled to another year. People will stop pissing on Miles' LSU grave when his disciples stop preaching his resurrection;
(2) Inevitable and spiteful backlash against the domineering Miles' apologists who strutted and preened along the promenades of the internet, citing immaterial records and scoffing at all criticisms of their man-God. Three months ago, if you even mentioned the firing of Miles, you were dismissed as a delusional child who just didn't understand the tough and practical realities of Division 1 football. Now it is under serious consideration. There is some comeuppance here;
(3) Defense of the new coach, if one is hired, whoever he may be. The champions of catastrophe are out in force, arguing that LSU is destined for the abyss without mighty Miles. They are already laying snares for the new man, fortifying their trenches and machine gun nests to cut him down. When posters stubbornly howl that LSU is doomed without Miles, the natural and inevitable reaction is to demonstrate he wasn't some infallible genius and that we can succeed without him.
JMO.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond...but that's some well written horseshite.
Specifically the highlighted portion. This makes for a wonderful cliche to throw around, but there has simply never been anyone that has been a bigger fan of Les Miles...a guy who one day showed up and got paid to coach our program...than of the program itself. The fact that this canard has been allowed to be tossed around as if it's a fact is crazy tal and goes towards why the faction that has been against LSU's coach for so long has been able to be ignored by most for not being serious.
Three weeks ago I'd argue the other points suggesting it's the guys who were up Miles' arse from the TENN loss in 2005 that triggered the defense by those now called sunshine pumpers, but I'm moving forward. Miles is clearly leaving, and as far as I'm concerned it's time to look forward, not back.
You're free to do whatever you like, but it's a fairly bad look continuing to spit bile once you've literally gotten exactly what you wanted.

I can't see Miles coming back now. Way too much smoke, too much acrimony.

You made an "A" in English 4010 creative writing didn't you? Very impressive copulation of metaphoric promenades and uses of vital realities.
Good work.

Only way I see Miles staying is with a named "Coach in Waiting." No one in the AD has faith that he will right the ship. Seems like the best way to make both sides happy. Give him a chance to be the CEO and let the future coach do the work. If this is the case, I would look for news coming out of Houston.

Um. There are still a ton of people arguing for him to stay, hence the continued pointing out of his weaknesses. Or "bashing", as the pumpers like to call it .
