Anymore Baseball Roster Decisions Still Pending?

Everything set now that Turang went the MLB route?

I believe still 4 over the limit. Someone will get hurt, transfer or get run off by Pulmonary.

Zach Hess in jeopardy now. Evidently if some player (8th rounder) signs with Braves, LSU is safe because ATL is out of money. But if he doesn't sign, it frees up money and Hess could be offered $1 million.

That is a shite ton of skepticism. It’s extremely unlikely he signs at this point

Again, if the 8th pick does not sign the Braves cannot use that money to sign someone else.

If he signs then Braves will have about 900k to throw at Hess if they so desire.
If kid doesn’t sign he goes to MSU and Hess surely returns.

Seems as if people don’t agree with that stance Adam

I have to think that one arm will transfer after this fall. Either one of the freshman or Storz/Labas/Fontenot. We are going to be deep as hell and one kid who though he could break into the rotation will find out he may struggle to get innings at all this year.
If it was someone who thought long and hard about going pro before honoring their commitment, I could see the JUCO route as an option.
Attrition is an unfortunate reality in big time college baseball, but it is a great problem to have.

It's as if the draft rules have changed since last night

WTF!!!
Storz and Labas, if fully healthy, will be in the mix for a weekend and midweek starter role.
Fontenot will be a key piece out of the pen, just like he was this season.
You named three of the top 5 returning pitchers and said that one needs to go.

They have, but it was only written in the rantard newsletter that comes out the 5th of every month. You wouldn't have gotten it.

(didn't count Walker) but based off of potential alone.
1. Hess
2. Stortz
3. Labas
4. Hillard/Peterson/Fontenot

Hillard had a great year. Don't want to discredit what he did AT ALL. He was great for LSU this year. His curve ball is nasty, but I think he has a lot of work to do to crack the rotation all season next year.
Fontenot had electric stuff out of the pen. In terms of "stuff" he was just below Sanders and Hess.
Labas/Stortz we are just living off of what we believe they can be with no injuries.

This freshman group of arms are going to sneak up on people.
Marceaux, Hill, and Henry were not supposed to make it to campus. Throw in McMurray who's a tall left and will fill out and Ripoll the local standout.

First and foremost, if someone wants innings, they're going to have to throw strikes.
That makes me think Ripoll is going to get a good amount of innings early in his career. Same with Marceaux, but I'm mentioning Ripoll because he's more under the radar.

How many hipsters does it take to change a lightbulb?
It's an obscure number, you've probably never heard of it.
But seriously, Walker and Hilliard both came in under the radar and got innings because they threw strikes right away.

quote:I'd add that the key was throwing strikes with more than one pitch. Locating a fastball is one thing. Being able to throw a curve/slider/change for a strike is another especially when you don't have "swing and miss" stuff and can't fool SEC hitters (thinking more of Walker here, but Hilliard was at his best when he could throw his curve for a strike).
