He looked great this Spring. But now that Crowton has had a year to work with him, he may have regressed like the others that Crowton has mentored. Jarret Lee is in his third year as a Tiger! I think his dad had him playing better in high school that he is playing now, mainly because his confidence is shot. Does JJ look better that when he did in the GTeck game? Russel Shepard looked pretty good in the spring. The number 1 rated qb coming out of high school, did we enjoy his passing game this year? Am I being overly critical here?

Your frustration is understandable but under crowton qb's dont progress.

They survive.

JJ has done a good job of surviving this insanity. Get a new OC JJ will come to life and be an outstanding qb. Jlee will too for that matter, if he can shake the brain damage that playing for crowton has given him.

Eta: sorry, your question was really about cg-- yes he is an exciting prospect.maybe not ready for him just yet.

Nah, you're not being overly-critical at all. But, to put it into perspective, the word on Garrett is that he looked better during the Spring than the coaches thought he would based on film and their evaluation of him during his high school games. That's not enough to leap to a conclusion that he looked better than the people ahead of him on the depth chart.

Please compare Jordan Jefferson's progress to Jamarcus Russell's progress at this exact point in their collegiate career.

It is about the damn same.

If JJ has the type of junior season that Jamarcus had his junior season, we won't need Chris Garrett to play soon.

Yep. Just what we need.

Five starting quarterbacks in five years.

JJ needs much improvement with his pocket presence

Wish Miles or Crowton would call up Flynn to come and share some wisdom he has gained at GB. Couldn't hurt.

I was at the Spring game and Garret was impressive. As was Russel S. No one is wanting JJ to lose his job but we are questioning if Crowton has done a good job of developing these guys as quarterbacks.
