So you're completely satisfied with the ticket prices vs. results. Even with a looming increase? Also, considering next years home schedule.

I'd be very surprised if Ticket Price + Tradition Fee wasn't near the very top. Not to mention the $800 parking pass they get you for.
Have you shopped around to the see the costs at other premier football schools like Alabama, Auburn, aTm, Georgia, Florida, USCe, Ohio State, Michigan, USCw, Notre Dame, etc?
Honestly you sound a bit provincial.

LSU charges Bama prices for Vanderbilt results. That's just the fact.

Don't think that's the word you were looking for

Prepare to be surprised then. I have a very good friend that is an Aggie season ticket holder. Just the face value of the tickets is well beyond LSU's. Their bad out of conference games are $60 vs LSU's $40. The Bama game face value was $100, Auburn and Ms St $80. Vandy is $70.
Their required donation is a bit higher as well. I don't have those exact number though.

So then what's the solution Russian. Increase prices and see marginal results? I don't think anybody is complaining about prices at Bama. Thy see results.

Maybe the value just isn't there for me then. Asking people to pay absorbent prices to watch a mediocre football team play a bad schedule just isn't for me. I rather spend that money elsewhere.

You can't have a successful program these days without money. High ticket prices, tv contracts that don't favor night games, etc., are all part of the necessary evil to keep up with other schools. These issues are not unique to LSU.
For me, it's pretty simple. I'm an alum and love all things LSU. I pay the outrageous prices, donate to TAF and the Alumni Assoc because I feel like it is my responsibility as an alum to help make LSU the best it can be.
Unfortunately, LSU doesn't have a large pool of wealthy donors. Raising ticket prices is one of the few options we have to compete at a high level. Money has to come from somewhere.

quote:Are we just selecting this year for your little exercise? I'm sure the folks at Georgia who pay more than LSU would love to have LSU's success, as would those at Auburn to not have to sit through the last two abysmal seasons. Tennessee fans pay about the same as LSU, with a larger stadium, and haven't seen their team win a conference championship in 15 years. Florida fans, who pay the most, won't see their team get to a bowl this year and went 6-6 two years ago.
So you're completely satisfied with the ticket prices vs. results.
Of course I wish LSU was better this year. I also know that a lot of schools that would love to have LSU's recent run of success charge more for tickets and fees.
Of course I wish LSU's tickets were cheaper at times, but I'd rather help with what is necessary to have a program to have a chance to be prominent nationally than to go the other way. That is today's reality. Truthfully, any non-homeless person can afford to go to an LSU game. Cheap tickets are everywhere on game day for those that want to attend.
Next year's home schedule sucks. That's the cycle of things.

2014 LSU home schedule and ticket price outside the stadium:
SHSU = Free
ULM = Free
Moo St = less than face (say $30)
NMSU = Free
Ky = less than face (say $30)
Ole Miss = Face Value $70
Alabama = Double face $ 140 (assuming the game actually means something, otherwise face value)
Also, prepare the anus for 11:00 am SEC TV kickoffs...

I see your point.
But who is that fair to. Somebody is losing some serious money somewhere. Why are tickets reselling so cheap if there is such high demand?

They are worth it to enough people. They aren't to many people. I understand that. They weren't worth it financially before but I will likely buy some next year due to doing well for myself and the convenience of having the great seats available to me.

Seems like you found the solution. Ticket prices don't guarantee a win or a perfect team. If you aren't happy, don't go...it's pretty simple.

LSU has cheap ticket prices. The face value on the Bama/LSU ticket was 90.00. If that was an LSU home game it would be what, 75.00?
Posted on 11/21/13 at 10:14 am to LSUTiger205
Yeah $75 is about right....
