These world class Veterenarians you speak of are also people who have ideals they've bought into, and none of that is supported with any long term effects anyone observed in those Tigers during their lives. I'm pretty sure they're a lot more resilient than they're being given credit for. They're fricking Tigers man, not little puppies, and hell, there are programs with dogs on the field all over this country. Are they scarred for life?

I've heard from a family member inside the vet program that Mike can handle the noise inside the stadium, but isn't enthusiastic about getting in the cage in the first place, therefore they don't force him to. Despite what some of you think, it's this tiger specifically.

He chooses to not go in the trailer. True.
However, in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s we don't know what they would have chosen to do because we cattle prodded them into the trailer. Fact is, most big cats would never get in that trailer unless forced.
And for those saying "Throw a steak in teh trailer!":

He said they are secretive, loner animals that choose not to go into that trailer and he is surprised he even walks out of his night cage in his habitat.
You think that doesn't stress him the frick out in that cage on the field with people screaming at him? It would stress out just about any non-domesticated animal most likely.
Again, he'll never be forced again and nothing anyone can do about it but MOVE THE frick ON.

I don't think doctors were idiots in the 1950's that put leaches on people to help with blood diseases or lobotomized people with mental illness. That was accepted practice. shite changes as we evolve as a society and learn more about this world.
