Either him or Matt Fury (smartest bull pen catcher in the SEC).

I think Chris Sciambra was Catholic High 'Man of the Year' in 2011, which is the biggest honor given, encompassing extra-curriculars, academics, and overall character.

Hannagrif just confirmed on air. 12 weeks in a rigid neck brace, so out for the year.

this really is awful. best of luck to him in his road to recovery. He hit one of the longest dingers I saw in HS ball last year and was really developing. Scary situation but glad no long term damage done

Not that this needs to be said, but he wasn't in class today. Hope he recovers well. Baseball's an after-thought right now

The NCAA is just so ridiculous sometimes.

Which is why years ago, Dale Brown loaded the team on a plane to attend Mark Alcorn's funeral and dared the NCAA to charge him.

I guess in the end the NCAA (gestapo bastards) won the war.

Lost count how many times I said I hated AUB during the weekend. mainly because listening to them call the game on their own braodcast was murder. But, them flying him home on their jet was pretty classy.

Because of NCAA rules, Jay Scimabra was not allowed to fly home with his son, but Goodlett accompanied him on the flight.

so much for the "we're all about the kids" facade the ncaa likes to put on.

Wow I had something scary like this happen my senior year, collided in the infield cracking my skull and had bleeding on the brain. Every doctor and nurse said I would never play again, but I played 4 weeks later to pitch a complete game(loss). Best of luck to him hope he comes back next year even stronger.

Why can't college have something like an IR or DL where they can bring in another player when one gets injured like this?

how many players good enough to play would accept a non scholarship deal to be a fill in like that should anyone get hurt?

should be able to recruit someone from juco. Baseball doesn't give out full scholarships anyway, do they?

If anyone is interested in a video of the play, here is a LINK to the Auburn sports site. The play occurs in the 7th inning, beginning about the 3:04 mark. (There is a short advertisement befor the game video begins.)

The entire video is of game highlights, and they show the LSU highlights as well as the Auburn ones.
