Any reason that we NEVER pull a guard, run a trap, or misdirection?

We can’t get this crew to block the guy on his nose correctly. No hope hitting a moving target.

I somewhat addressed that In my thread about the receivers.

The run game continues to be terrible. Those type plays don’t get ran out of shotgun though.

Our run plays have to be , at minimum, rpos

My question is, why in the frick would you say you are going to attempt to run the joe Brady offense and not run the number one play in that offense

I kept waiting last night for the toss dive, to the short side of the field.

What? Go watch Bama and Oklahoma’s run game

UCLA was running counters out of the shotgun

Maybe those plays are too complicated for our players to comprehend?

I’m not sure at this point that they would pull in the right direction. Just 2 guards pulling into each other.

Its cool being in shotgun and all but every now and then it would be cool to see a pistol, I form, or singleback formation. Running the ball from the shotgun with 240 lb RBs is not the "wave"

This offensive line was putrid. Our new OC did a horrible job helping them out. He did nothing to get their defense worried about outside rushest or getting to the edge. The offence constantly lined up with a full play clock and then ran it down to 1 or 2 seconds trying to figure out where everyone was on defense instead of getting to the line and snapping the ball. It was an awful debut. The offense (and defense) looked totally unprepared.

Based on what I saw last night, they're too slow for that.

Seems like within this seasons game so far it is hard to run or be very creative for a lot of reasons and reasons why offense like urban Meyers power spread can lean on run. Not that I’m campaigning for him.
- first off, the bad oline. Wish the OL would’ve had more time with Davis going into season.
-Max is not a true threat to run ball very much on zone read/RPO and we play the running a back that is not built for it this run game
- we can’t run QB Power or QB lead because we don’t have someone like a Tebow so that’s out.
- we can’t run QB counter like a Braxton Miller did so that’s out.
- we can’t run speed sweep because we don’t have the personnel to do it.
-We CAN use jet sweep and incorporate WR’s and their speed and could give or fake to open run game but doesn’t seem to be of much thought.
-Overall just hard to be very creative in LSU offensive philosophy besides zone read and RPO. So pass game has to be on point to open run game not other way around.

OC was terrible and it was really bad play calling.

It actually wasn't terrible in the 1st half, it seemed he gave up on run game and uses short passing in place of it. It was successful.
But per OP, comment on mis-direction, I agree. The run game lacked any creativity.

Legit question.

We have 2 running plus: inside zone and a draw. Not what any of us wanted to see.
