Decided to make this my yearly SEC road trip game bc I doubt I'll be able to cross Vandy off my list for another decade or so. Have any of y'all ever made this trip ? Any must dos? Great places to eat?
Also I'm about ready to pull the trigger on some tickets. Does it really matter where you sit considering how small their stadium is ? I see it only holds like 39k ppl .
Any info would be appreciated. TIA

I went a few years ago. I enjoyed Hattie B's Nashville Red Hot Chicken. Plenty of little dives around the campus but no must haves that I experienced. Wasn't much going on at the time I went there. The few people out were Tigers.
With that said, I do like Nashville and will make the trip again this year. Seating didn't matter too much

Great trip. Lots of bars and restaurants. Hotel right next to campus and stadium. Then, you go to the game which felt like a home game in a large high school stadium. The year I went was a Tiger blowout which is better than losing. But, overall a good trip because of what Nashville has to offer.

Live in suburb of Nashville. Country Music Hall of Fame is a very nice experience. Frist Art Museum is also very well done. In Franklin we have tours of Carnton & Carter Plantation if you’re a Civil War/Am History buff, as well as one of the nicest small town downtown areas in the South. There’s also the Parthenon replica which is neat and some churches with stunning architecture. The Nash Trash tour if you are a little older is pretty fun and if Doyle and Debbie are doing a show it’s pretty good redneck humor/music. Very Dewey Cox-ish. If you’re a little more sophisticated Sambucca has really good lounge/jazz vibe over in the Gulch.
Depending on budget, House of Cards under the Johnny Cash museum is incredible evening of dining and entertainment. Otherwise you can do tourist spots like Hattie B’s or Pancake Pantry which are solid also. If you make it over to the 12 South area Edleys BBQ, Urban Grub, and Burger Up are solid. Urban Grub brunch is money.
Downtown Bars with great bar food and entertainment are FGL House and Aldeans. It will be sloot city at these places.
Edit - if you go downtown and drive vs Uber/Lyft convention center is probably best location and price for your buck for parking.

Nashville is a very cool, clean and hip town (unlike Baton Rouge). Vandy has a beautiful campus right near downtown and all the fun bars and restaurants.

I've been twice for football and once for baseball. Going back in Sept. Nashville could be the best road trip in SEC. 1.) Downtown is clean and free music is amazing. 2.) Hotels are literally in the end zone of the stadium. 3.) Stadium is so small that the worst seats are great. Vandy fans don't show so LSU fans will cover 30% to 40% of stadium.

Been twice and enjoyed both trips, Nashville is a fun town, though the city is definitely ambivalent toward football.
Got in a cab from the airport the first trip in our LSU gear and the cab driver asked what we were in town for and we said the game....he said "what game?"

I went in 2005, it was awesome trip. Set up a big tailgate in Cenntenial Park, which is right across the street from stadium. Stayed in a hotel right there also. As far as what to do, it’s Nashville, there is tons of stuff to do. Nashville might be the best road trip in the SEC

BTW to OP, of you go to Hattie B's, don't be a hero and get the hottest variety. It will kill you lol. Whisky kitchen is a cool spot

Really fun trip. Stayed at the Hutton which was an amazing hotel. Going out on Broadway the night before was a blast. For game day we started at the Broadway brew house and then made it to the stadium. Friendly folks but as someone else mentioned it has the atmosphere of a big playoff high school game rather than a SEC game.

Definitely planning a trip to Nashville this season, but not sure if for the Tigers or Saints.. Tigers play in N’ville just a couple weeks after the UT game in Austin; Saints are scheduled to play Titans on the road but their schedule (with exact dates and times) doesnt come out til later this month.. so if the Saints play later in the season, assuming not the same weekend as an LSU home game, then we’ll probably make the trip then.

I have not. But that reminds me. Loveless Cafe is a pretty cool spot as well.

You can watch the game from your hotel room or concierge loung if you want.

That’s cool but those rooms are $600 per night, and I would want to be in the stadium, not in a room for the game.

They have an NFL franchise. What are you talking about?

Love the city but the stadium is garbage. Spent most of the game waiting to use the bathroom. There are like 12 urinals for the entire stadium

I have and live in the area. Demos steak and spaghetti is a must. KC strip. Music row. Downside there is a lot of construction downtown. General Jackson dinner ride is nice. Nashville queen is a cheaper option for a river ride.

Appreciate the info guys. Need a good trip to redeem the college station one from last year.
