*Destrehan (La.) running back John Emery, the No. 12 player overall in the 247Sports Composite is another player who was a no-show this week and won’t be competing. Emery is a ridiculous talent and you can make a strong argument he’s the top back in the country.

You can say that about any of those kids.

If they already have college scholarships, why are they risking it?

I think the logical next step for recruiting is for kids to sit out their games once they’ve secured their desired offers. No need to jeopardize their careers and that next level

Well, if NCAA players aren’t going to play in relatively meaningless games...

So when emery sits out to not risk getting hurt bc he’s going to play for us it’s all good... but when greedy sits out to make millions of dollars everyone bitches....

Your argument might have made sense if he had been playing with his brothers. He doesn't know the guys on the the allstar team and doesn't owe them anything.

Give me a break. LSU fans think that these players owe YOU something. That's why all the crying is done. It's perfectly ok for Emery because he isn't backing out on a commitment to play for LSU. That's what it all boils down to. Don't pretend it's anything else.

They don’t owe the fans shite, but the guys on the team is a different story. What is hard to grasp about this? If you have ever played a team sport then it would make sense to you

No one wants to admit their hypocrisy.

All people have to say is that they only care about these matters when LSU is adversely affected by them.

He's signed, sealed and delivered to LSU, so no reason to risk injury or prove a point to others. He can show how valuable he during his time at LSU!

just following the example set by college players ahead of him, hell, he might have been advised to
