I see online that he had some pretty good numbers in the minors so far, and was hitting above .300. So far, no stats for 2018. Any word on if he is injured or did he stop playing?

I really thought that would be a more popular thing. Especially when we play Ole Miss.
Also, I wonder if she got pregnant from that.

He’s not playing anymore. Recently “retired”.

If true, why? Minor league stats we're good. Great fielder as well

a lot of guys get burnt out and just don't enjoy the A ball life. Blake Dean quit after his first full season.

Caught up in the numbers and injury setbacks. I think he was just ready to start his post-ball life.

yep, I understand that minor league ball is just a damn grind....particularly when you played for a team with fan support like LSU has. It has to be tough to regularly step into an empty ballpark after that...

Uh...great SEC players usually advance out of the rookie leagues quickly. They get up to Double A, they’ll usually encounter decent crowds.

I don’t think anybody retires because the college days were so great and minor league crowds may not be full.

In minor leagues, the competition is cut throat. You share a locker room with bonus babies, Latinos, guys who didn’t go to college, guys at vastly different levels of maturity. Oh yeah, you ride buses.

You don’t make jack shite in terms of money. Sure, you may get a signing bonus, but you better invest that before it runs out. If you are a lower round pick, expect a small signing bonus anyway.

In the pros, you get a reality check. Being a college star means nothing. You get to battle for a roster spot just like some dude from
Cuba who caught baseballs with a milk carton glove.

Your life for 7-8 months is spent living in a hotel, with a host family, or with some other ball players if you are lucky.

You go from BMOC to living in some outpost in the Appalachian League.

It’s gotta be a tough transition. He could have hung it up for any number of reasons.
