There’s 3 OOC rent a wins a year, and they already have 3 wins in the sec. so that’s just bad math

Vandy wasn’t on the schedule.

Not sure if it was Missou or SC, think it was SC since we played Missou more recently

Miles’ 08 team and Chizik’s ‘11 squad who both went 7-5 and won their bowls. That’s since the BCS era.

Not the best of company eh?

Miles fielded the 2nd best team in LSU history in 2011 lol

I’m defending the idea that you cannot recover. And I’d say he was able to from those years, despite running it into the ground again.

So what you’re saying is O needs three more years

Les didn't have this kind of fall to recover from though. At some point you're going to have to actually reply to my recruiting/roster management questions.

as negative and miserable as you appear to be this season has to be glorious for you.

No Vandy on the original schedule. So that’s just bad logic.

And don’t give me the Mauck injury line. Beating Zook in the Swamp was great, but that was not a good team.

Obviously not but that team was still a fluke Arkansas touchdown away from winning the west

Here’s the original schedule:

UTSA
Texas
Rice
Ole Miss
Nichols
Florida
Arkansas
MSU
Alabama
South Carolina
Auburn
Texas A&M

There are 5 wins there, assuming no upsets, and another 2 POSSIBLE wins if LSU beats UT or MSU.

6-6 would have been the best case scenario IMO.

Bear Bryant went 6-5 in 1969 and 6-5-1 in 1970 after 3 NCs earlier in the 60s and another 11-0-0 season.

Could be another reason for those records in 69-70. His recruiting changed in 1971. Not saying that's the reason, but it could be.

At 8-4.

And let’s not belittle “fluke touchdowns” to bolster LSU in 2002

9-3 is running it into the ground? What are you going to call 3-7?

That 2009 team wasn't terrible.

We still went to the Citrus Bowl that year.

Still, 8-4 off an sec title and nearly back in it the next season was nothing to complain about 3 years from back to back losing seasons. My confidence in saban was sky high, i knew we’d be good in 03 but didn’t expect to win it all

This. ND went 4-8 playing a handpicked all OOC schedule. Laughingstock. (Brian Van Gorder was the DC)

Made a ton of structural changes and is now fielding his best team.
