I mean this is our fan base… not only does LeBron play for bama but Milam has been head and shoulders above him this year both at the plate and without question in the field

Yea was a mistake on my part, I definitely meant Alabama. If rev share is the only issue then whats Tennessee's problem this year? We going coaching, money, or portal strategy on that one? So for another million or two we get 2 more sec wins?

the problem this year is that the bats were off for a long period of time that just happened to be the same period that we were healthy on the mound and having fewer catastrophic defensive innings .
now that we are hitting the ball we've lost two of the guys we can trust on the mound and are having those blow up innings once a game at least.

the teams really not that far off, fewer mistakes in the field and fewer free passes and were sitting at .500 right now especially now that we've been hitting.

the guys we got out the portal just havent panned out and a lot of our bullpen guys just havent developed or played well enough to finish games where the starter doesn't go deep.

I will say, missing on the portal guys we got is probably the best thing that could have happened for the 2027 season. we have got guys like Pearson, braun,Patrick, and the other kid I forgot his name,a lot of abs that they never would have gotten..that goes for serna and yanin too , serba would have still played if we hit with yorke but he would have split time at catcher with arrambide and split time with Braun at dh when not catching ,thats still a lot of abs but now hes playing every day.
we now know that yamin can be used next year as a replacement at many different spots and be effective

I wouldnt hate Mikey Ryan coming back to be our shortstop next year but obviously thats a long shot.

Someone on here posted a while back that he was really struggling on defense. Not sure if that's changed

The shortstop he needs to go after is Nate Castellon from Cal Poly.

Disclaimer - I have not watched a pitch from NC State all year.

He's basically Jordan Thompson (from a statistical standpoint) defensively. Looks like he's improved over the last few weeks. At one point he was dreadful in the field, with like a sub .900 fielding percentage.

Would take that all day. JT was entertaining if nothing else

Like rehiring a former employee, it is generally a bad idea.
