You're right. Play the young kids that will help you in the future. This season is shot, so give them amble playing time. Hell, you can go 1-9 with anyone, you don't "owe" any starters a damn thing. You can't simulate real playing time....PLAY THEM NOW!!!! Hit the ground running next year.

If the play you are talking about was the td to tie it at 38 you can see Steven’s go to Clark after the play and ask where he was - when Clark pointed to who he followed Steven’s threw his hands up - that was on Clark

Clark is horrible...dude shouldn’t even b on the field..he runs away from the play not looking for 1st contact.. LSU has to have better LBers on the bench than on the field..

Or maybe they see the guys practice every day and know a little bit more about their strengths and weaknesses than the average fan

They see Dare in practice every day but still start him over Wire. At least Wire actually plays like an OT. Dare uses his hands way too much instead of setting his feet. Just watch him next time you have a game on. He looks like a defensive lineman trying to play O-line.

It’s depressing that 55 people have upvoted this stupidity.

Throwing freshman into the fire after three games against one of the best teams on the schedule is a completely Coach O move. This reeks of desperation.

why would coaches play guys that aren't as good as their back ups?

the same reason why a coach wouldn’t make adjustments after getting their arse handed to them multiple times.

there is literally no possible way it could get any worse than it already is. put em out there and see what they can do. and if they’re just as bad, at least they’re getting experience for the future.
