I think he was averaging like 93/94 and now he's touching 100. Insane velo development in one year

Didn't Skenes do something similar in his move from the AF Academy to LSU?

From what I remember he was throwing upper mid 90s. 96-97

It’s been like that for quite a while. That’s why they say Nolan Ryan’s 100mph pitch in 1974 would be around 108mph today. Locking his place as the baddest MFer on earth to throw a baseball.

He was a bad mofo but he didn’t throw 108 mph.

I wonder if it’s a difference in the radar. I’ve heard over the last few years one of the changes is the radar picks up the speed as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand versus when it crosses home plate.

people don't understand that there has been a very noticeable velocity gain (3+ MPH) by baseball pitchers over the last 15 years or so, with the same exact technology. Players are throwing harder. Players are commonly seeing jumps over singular offseasons, like Eyanson has as well.

I would recommend that you look into it before laughing. I didn’t come up with that number.

I’m well aware of the sources and stories around this Nolan Ryan claim. The same adjustments would suggest the league was absolutely full of 100+ mph throwers back then, hence the laughing emoji.

Well I’m not gonna try and convince you. I’ll go with what plenty of evidence shows and you go with whatever you want. Cheers.
Eyanson is still a stud.

We completely agree there. I was one of the OG Eyanson super fans and have the posts to prove it. You could tell he was going to be an excellent pitcher for us last year.

Wow.
He was dominant last year with a steady diet curveballs and sliders. His fastball was almost an afterthought.

He’s making his debut for the Greenville Drive tonight.

Cade got all the hype and for good reason, but Eyanson wasn’t far behind.
