As of today - he'll be the starter next year!

He won't see the field in 2025. LSU doesn't develop backup QBs. They'll look for a 2026 starter in the portal.

Hopefully Sloan will install a red zone package featuring Van Buren. A running threat at QB puts a lot more pressure on a defense inside the 10.

I’d argue, with these portal additions, LSU is going to be most talented team on paper going into 2025

Bahahahahahaha

We could have NFL talent, but there’s always going to be “if only we could have fixed the ____” as long as BK is here.

The guy won 9 games with Jayden Daniels for Christ’s sake

I'm surprised he would come here. He has proven he can start and play well. He is coming to sit the bench?

Hopefully we can get another TE to start.

Green will have a shot at the job if Pimpton stays in the portal. Moving him to WR was just a way to get him on the field earlier.

He could start for a lower P4 team or have his pick of the G5. He’s making a play to start at a much bigger P4 program in 26 and to be waiting in the wings next season if Nuss goes down. It’s a smart play.

You mean the 2nd year guy he inherited from O in 2022? The now 4th year QB that people used "it's his first year as a starter" as an excuse for his limited development throughout the 2024 season, two years later?

Yet, "he's the son of an NFL QB/coach" was the reason the rant said he was better than Jayden during the 2022 season. So, by your logic, Van Buren should be good to go by 2027.

Let me know when LSU finds and plays an underclassman QB that it scouted and recruited from HS under BK. At the moment, BK prefers the scouting, recruiting, and play of QBs from other teams through the transfer portal over what LSU brought in through high school recruiting on his watch.

He has to find meaningful snaps for young QBs. If he doesn't trust them, then recruit and evaluate better. Or, let other teams do it and grab them from the transfer portal, possibly. We don't know what R. Collins was capable of. I doubt we'll know what Hurley is capable of.

Half of the CFP bracket is transfer QBs. Who cares.

Assuming we get the C from VT, I’d also like an interior DL and a S. However, I assume Perk is going to play the Star and see this D being incredible if we can add a S and a bit of depth.

DE - Butler / Shanklin
DT - Guillory / Breaux/ Williams
DT - McKinley / Washington / Matthis
DE - Reliford / Cobbins

LB - Weeks / Weeks / Weeks
LB - Downs / Ross / Singleton
Star - Perkins

S - Spears
FS- Gilbert
NB - Stamps / Toviano
CB - Pickett / Anding
CB - Jackson / Woodland

So use the scholarship on a Safety, OL, DL, etc instead of a HS QB you won't play until year 3 or 4?

I don't have any issue with transfer QBs. Just stop wasting scholarships on HS QBs you don't intend to play or develop ahead of QB1 vacancy. Keep going to the portal for QBs with playing time.

I think BK will get a safety and perhaps another OL from the portal.

I think they intend on developing every single player they sign. But only a small % work out, for various reasons.
