how do you really tell the difference in the players signed in the "8th" best class vs the "1st" best class ?

How do you know how a WR from California will be vs one from Florida?

ESPN doesn't hate LSU. ESPN loves money. LSU is a small market and brings them little to no revenue. ESPN is indifferent towards LSU.

They have Gunner as a 4*?? How do you simply ignore the fact that another site, one of the best recruiting sites that is, has Gunner listed as the #1 in the COUNTRY?? And not only ignore that, but list him as 4* instead of 5. C'mon, man

ESPN has Gunner as the # 2 QB not the # 1 if you read there story about him coming to LSU.

ESPN always underrates Louisiana players.

Which is ridiculous when you think of all the Louisiana talent that is currently in the NFL.

Posted this in another thread:

ESPN is a television network that survives on advertising and ratings. They will say or do what they need to obtain the said ratings. Expecting an objective analysis from them is useless - I am not sure they even claim to provide this.

This coming from a fan base that wanted to fire CLM if he didn't beat North Carolina in the opening game last year. Come on. Admit it. 90% of you guys had him on the hot seat prior to last year.

Saban is 2-3 vs LSU going in to the BCSNC. You can be proud of your record with him. Best in the country. I wouldn't be so proud of beating us while we were under scholly reductions on probation. Even AU beat us 6 in a row. All I know is we're 45-25-5 vs LSU all time. That's all that matters historically in this rivalry.

Rating recruiting classes is ridiculous. Some guys will be academic casualties and some "can't miss" guys "will miss." Also, some three star guys may develop into pretty good players. It's all a crapshoot and a subjective guess.

Wrong, Saban is 2-4 vs LSU.

And I wouldn't be so proud of a team that gets caught cheating as much as Alabama does.

Something Bama fans seem to forget, there is a reason teams are put on probation - cheating.

Actually it's not. You're wrong AGAIN.

True but it does have statistical significance when looking at the NFL draft. More proportion of 5*'s get drafted than 4*'s and they are proportionally drafted more than 3*'s. But we've had walkons that made it to the NFL. Ex. Rashaad Johnson. Vinnie Suneri was a 3* but he'll be starting in the NC game as a pure freshman. Claiborne was a 3* and he may be the best CB in the country this year.

For a fanbase that beats its chest that their team is the greatest in the history of organized sports, some of you are the most insecure, delusional fans on earth. Probation was a result of the Tide's cheating. It wasn't akin to Marshall's plane crash. Deal with it and stop whining and making excuses about your own shortcomings.

I'm not but historically we're way down the list on probation level infractions. Auburn is right at the top. I dunno about LSU.

Spoken like a true Bama fan.

NOW is what matters. Da Bear is gone, and most of those wins were from that very different era. Bama, ND, USC, Ohio State and Michigan no longer enjoy the recruiting advantages of being the best shot for recruits to get on television, The playing field in that regard has leveled out. I'll take a team loaded with Louisiana talent over a team that shares Alabama talent with another in-state SEC school any day. Right now, "any day" is 1/9/2012.

Kind of like when some players commit to a big school they gain a star, I guess ESPN takes stars from QBs who go to LSU.

I believe Alabama is way down at #2.

LSU just suffered its first ever major violation in football in 2010 with the Akiem Hicks self-reported violation. The NCAA agreed with our self-imposed sanctions as well with no further penalties.

Do people really buy into this idea that ESPN hates LSU? I mean ESPN stumped hard for LSU to get into the Title game in 2007 and they haven't said anything bad about us so much as that they've just said more good shite about Bama. I mean hate is a really strong emotion. REALLY strong.

some people will only be satisfyed with ESPN when they change their name to the ESPNLSUNETWORK.
