How? The Smoke deal? Forgot about that crap? How about his grubby hands pushing for asses instead of quality for the baseball stadium?

The metal fence is to hide the PVC pipe.

The shitty LF bleachers they drug over from the old box to save money are 100% a problem.

Skip wanted a new stadium that still had the old Box look and feel. Thus the bull pens in foul territory and metal bleachers.

I really don't think it would cost THAAT much money to make the Box a lot better.

Isn’t CJJ trying to get the bullpens moved to behind the outfield walls? How would that work? Would they put it under the bleachers or would they go in the middle where there are no bleachers?

I bang that drum often. Enough people don’t know those are the left field bleachers from the Old Box.

Whew, was getting worried it took me until the 2nd page to see "it'll never be ready in time" and PVC pipe comments.

Why do we have a metal fence behind our outfield walls? Can they not sink those outfield bleachers to where we don’t see that fence? Looks awful

I was at the game and didn't understand what happened. We've had home runs hit the chain link fence behind the outfield wall many times. That's always been ruled a homerun. What did the ump see or not see tonight?

Why would they label the field smaller than it actually is? You can measure it using satellite imaging. It’s 405’

No clue. I could tell on TV in live action that the metal fence brought the ball back onto the field. The replay showed it going off the top of the wall, hit the fence, popped up and back down to track, so clearly a HR. Im just assuming the umps must have a 13" black and white monitor down there in the tunnel and determined the replay was "inconclusive", and just went with the ruling on the field.

Okay that's fair enough. I just don't want people to think our chain link fence is a flaw b/c I sit out there and we've had plenty HR's hit the chain link fence and bounce back into the field. Those are 100% HR. Our fans in the front row out there in Left Field know not to reach over the fence and try to catch these balls as it'll be interference.

But This one was a bit confusing and unusual.

One word

Skip

That cheap arse bastard let Nick go. Let Pat Henry go.

He was not a good AD.

Dead wrong on all of this amigo, except that Skip did have to go cheap on parts of new Box due to a global credit crisis in 2007-08 that caused a slow-down in donations.
So, the old bleachers got moved over whereas RF & LF were designed to have chairbacks. And the berm that was designed for RCF was removed due to cost to do the compaction work (much more expensive in South LA and near the Miss River than in most other states/stadiums). Also, the engineers told Skip that the process to do the work on berm (initial installation, manual compaction, settling, additional materials added, comapction and settling) would take 2-3 timea as long as the architect specified.
Been stated often that Nick could not be persuaded to stay with any amount of LSU money available. He wanted to be the GOAT in the NFL. Pat Henry, maybe. Although he has Texas roots and desired to return there. And ask his coaches if they think he was a good AD. 100% agreed Yes.

yeah it was just a blown call. I guess the camera could have been zoomed in a bit more, but it still should've been obvious to the umps. Would've really sucked had it been at a crucial point late in a tight game.
