My dad was the biggest LSU Football fan ive ever known, he brought me to many games as a kid, and he was all LSU all the time. Dad passed from complications from Pneumonia in 2007 just a few days after the Tigers won the Sugar Bowl vs Notre Dame. My dads football/baseball/basketball number was the number 8, everything he ever signed or did was always with the #8. There has been may times the number 8 has been shown to my family in different ways and we know its his way of telling us he is still with us, well this year it has been 8 years since he passed and it has been 8 years since LSU won a football National Championship. My dad passed away on January 11th 2007, and I looked the other day and the NCG happens to be on January 11th 2016. So if I know my pops, he will be playing some Angels in Tiger Stadium this year, and I really hope he is, because it would be a very surreal thing for me if the LSU Purple and Gold Tigers somehow win the National Championship on the day my best friend passed away.

That's a lot of pressure to put on your dad. I hope he comes thru.

I can completely relate, my friend. My dad passed away very suddenly at the end of March.

It's going to be so weird being at the games without him, we never missed a home game. But I know he'll be there, just like your dad. I have no doubt.

Its still weird to me, but one thing you will understand soon enough is that LSU Football games will make you feel closest to him again, it will be the few saturdays through out the year that you will feel like he is right there with you. It may sound strange, but it is why I look forward to LSU football the most.

Thanks, man. That helps reading this. Doesn't sound strange at all.

Sorry about your dad. Sounds like we'll have a couple of fans up there this year. We lost a close friend this year to cancer. We endowed the oak tree we tailgate under in his name to make sure he is with us on campus for every home game.

I can relate man. My dad passed away suddenly on April 12th 2012. he was a huge tiger fan and the reason I am one today. He was my best friend and the person I turned to for everything. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him. Here's to you my friend.

Very cool sorry for your loss as well, some great people got together and got my dad a Brick made and set in front of Mikes Cage in his memory.

Me either man, I still think about what would dad do in mostly working situations at my job everyday, lol, but me and him worked together alot so he taught me alot.
I also think alot about the great times we had on Saturdays getting ready for LSU Football games with Guava Jelly and his dad too. That was our gameday crew.

Sounds like we have a lot in common bc I also worked with my dad. I'm just glad I had a father like the one I had for the time he was here. Some people don't have that luxury. Some people don't know what it's like to have a great father. I do and am very thankful for it.
