A starting qb for a top 5 team? In the preseason, everyone is a potential heisman contendor. If LSU goes undefeatd, and JJ has a decent year, then he will be in heisman talks. Maybe not a finalists, but he has as legitimate a chance of anyone else at this point. FACT

I don't think I have ever heard Ware say anything positive about LSU.

Thats about the dumbest person to ever sniff the Heisman.

What were his reasons?

I would settle for a very average, decent season from JJ. As long as the chains move, I don't care about his stats. Putting him in the Heisman talk right now...

Espn is pimpin LSU big time. I would think mainly because of the season opener against Oregon.

Jesse Palmer - notes LSU's QB situation is better than Bama's, picks LSU to win the SEC

Colin Cowherd - picks LSU to be in BCSCG

Andre Ware - predicts Jordan Jefferson will have a huge year

I predict by the 2nd game, this board will be melting down calling for Mett...hell, maybe by the second quarter of the Oregon game.

Gosh, but wouldn't it be refreshing if we could wait for the season to begin before we predict failure for one of our own.

Seems I recall much the same kinda of BS flooding this forum last year at this time from the doom and gloom patrol in reference to LM and we all know how that worked out, huh.

dude, no. It doesn't matter. He has done nothing to deserve Heisman mention. NOTHING

he hasnt even sniffed ALL Sec much less the best player in the nation.

da frick?

I want you to Give me Trent Richardson, LaMichael James, and Landry Jones chances of being at the Heisman ceremony. Just use a %

then give me Jordan Jeffersons.

If their chances are anywhere close, then you are not all there in the head.

Lsu fans are the only people that get offended when national media says positive things about the team. It is really crazy.

Let's just put it this way, any and all per season talk/hype jj gets should have jlee in parenthesis right beside it, 12 is as deserving as anything jj is. Actually could be argued that he is even more so.

This relates to two things that, at this point, cannot be fixed.

(1) Self confidence, and
(2) Mechanics

Throwing mechanics breeds consistency.

Self confidence is easy to fix, especially someone who has as much exp as jj has, the amount of talent he has around him and the maturity that comes with exp and age.

Its preseason.

What was Cam Newton chances last year when everyone thought Ingram would repeat?

Its football and you don't know the future. Who knows who will have a breakout season. And for the record, every D1 player in america has the same chance. 50%. Either you win it, or you don't.

So, every player has the same odds of winning the heisman as not winning? Please tell me you didn't take stats at LSU.

ETA: If it is 50/50, would you mind betting me $1,000 straight up? You take JJ for heisman, I'll take the not.

I'm sure his rationale is he'll be the QB of a top 5 team fricking LOADED with talent, with HUGE expectations, that should win 10 games minimum this year. That's what these ESPN guys do. Their amount of research into this subject is strictly based on the idea that LSU is loaded, and JJ is the QB...plus his play was abysmal last year, so the only way to go is up.
