You do realize this does not mean he makes it in the NFL correct? Also m not saying he does our does not. Congrats to him. But don't go beating your chest yet.

Chicago had better take their first round draft choice and parlay it down and earn some additional picks and pick him up earlier than 3rd. Kicker position can't be overstated, especially for them.

There are like 250 guys with that designation every year. you know how many picks in the 5th 6th and 7th round there are? Less

There are at least 2 teams that better not pass up on the best kicker in the country after what happened this season in the NFL.

Bears don’t have a first. Oakland owns that from the Mack trade.

Please don’t wish Chicago on Cole

I’ve done this many times already....but since you went ahead and got ready....Cole will never make the NFL. Happy?

Hope he makes it but leg strength seems like it would be a tough one to overcome to make an NFL roster

Chicago short of a kicker is trending up. Especially with Green Bay, Detroit in that division. Minnesota is the only one who could win it over Chicago.

Great and I hope my Bears can snag him. Needing a kicker bad.

I'm saying that this site is not an indictment that this kid will make a roster. Just because this site names him the #1 kicker doesn't mean Anything until he gets out there to wherever he gets drafted/signs.

Why? Because he was a finalist and played at LSU?

Stop being pompous. I really like Cole and wish him well but leg strength is a major concern. He struggled mightily from 50 and over. Back before around 2010 that was fine, some teams carried a long distance and short distance kicker. Pretty much every kicker nowadays has range of at least 55 yards even in crazy weather conditions.

If Cole can make improve his distance by 5 to 7 or 8 yards, he will have a chance to be really good and get on a roster. That said there are probably 60 kickers who are constantly competing for a spot on NFL rosters. Some strong competition but he does have the calmness to be one of those that gets a shot.

I mean this is the league where Colt David and Josh Jasper couldn't even get a try and they had strong legs.

One question he has is his ability to consistently get touchbacks on kick offs. Obviously he didn't kick off at LSU. But in the NFL with limited roster spots no team can carry a KO specialist. He'd either have to show he can deliver touchbacks with regularity over 70% (at least) OR go to a team who has the punter handle the KO duties (very few do nowadays)

I can’t see how a kicker who can’t kickoff ever gets drafted.

A tryout? I guess? He’s going to have to prove he can kickoff. 53 man roster is a bitch.
