Makes you wonder what was going on when Miles won with Saban's players.

It's a neat trick.

Saban did an excellent job of coaching them up before he left. He was so magnificent the effect did not wear off until those players went on to play in the NFL where they are now mediocre since the Saban effect is now all but gone. These players should all consider purchasing a used Saban jock to sniff so they can then return to their former Sabanesque glory.

if Miles recruiting is so good (as evidenced by rankings), then whats the excuse for playing close to shitty teams and last years record? is the talent all overrated?

You are an idiot.

my problem with this coaching staff, particulary offense, is that we have tremendous athletes that aren't put in the best position to fully utilize their talents

I dont know what Saban has to do with it, but it's tough to deny that this LSU team is not playing as well as it should. The defense has been soft since mid-2007, and now the OL is a wreck. I guess it's always something. At least the QB is playing well this year.

I think Les Miles is an 8-5 type coach who gravytrained the program Nick Saban built into a National Championship

How does that work, genius? He just sat back and watched a bunch of teenage boys figure out how to win a national championship 3 years after Saban left town?

I guess I'll wait another season or so before reaching that conclusion. Here's his record at LSU:

2005-2007: 34-6
2008: 8-5
2009: 4-0
If we go 4-5 the rest of the way and pull another 8-5 or 7-6 next year, then yeah, I'd prolly give him the boot. Not now though.

(Brilliant. Miles wins the National Title in his third year. How did Michigan State do in yr 3 after St Nick ?)

I think they ran the coach out of town and nick gave him a job?

How do you explain Saban losing to UAB while at LSU and losing to ULM with Bama?

This.

I would also add that we don't want to be disappointed so we just believe the worst about everything.

Look at the talent level on Bama's team and tell me its equal to LSU's? Its not! Saban has only two classes and he has passed us by! And thats after years of top classes for LSU.

He coaches them up and expects them to be perfect or there is hell to pay.

Miles is a "players coach" that talks a good game.

I like Miles better than Saban without a doubt, but the truth is, Saban gets more out of his players than Miles does.

The leadership that was shown when Miles won the NC, was from players Saban brought in.

Here is an example. Jocob Hester was a 2 or 3 star player. Saban knew he had more to him than that and signed him. He ended up being the main reason we won the NC that year. Not his talent but his heart and leadership.

Show me ONE of our players that have that now? Show me ONE of these 5 star studs that have that? Because I dont see it.

Ray Ray, I'll tell you why you don't see it...
a) you don't know what the hell you are talking about.
b) you don't know any of these players apart from what you read about their bios and stats on the internet, which makes a moron for saying they don't have heart and leadership.
