good read.
I sit with and tailgate with some ex players and a few ex tigers and it's comical to watch their facial expressions as "Joe the fan" starts ranting about football. They are very patient to say the least

Nice read - too bad Miles won't take the advice.
Jordan Jefferson has many issues.
However, his number one problem is his attitude.
That alone should get him benched.

Maybe they should drop some wisdom on the average ranter. When my grandma starts trying to tell me what's wrong with the football team (no running game) someone needs to step up.
I can't boom my grandma, someone else has gotta do it.

It may be time for the state legislature or Gov. Jindal to step in and declare a state of emergency.

Miles has allowed, encouraged, enabled, and even defended JJ. This has been counter productive and made JJ think he is playing okay.

I still believe the right OC could take either QB and run an adequate O. If we moved the QB under center ran a version of the I formation and pounded the ball enough we should be able to train graff to alley oop the damn football to our big assed TE when they stack the box! there is one thing this O does consistantly and that is if they gain good yards on 1st down then you can bet your arse if they get the next play off without a penalty it is gonna be something well behind the line of scrimmage that the D will know is coming and blow up! Then 3rd down some form of option or a pass for 2 yards short of a first! My frustration is that I know this scenario so well!

Great read...
Does Les honestly think that ANY team we play will think or believe that we will throw the ball deep with JJ at QB? If not, then why not just play Shep at QB if the plan is for the QB to have 10-15 carries a game? Surely Shep could manage to throw the 15 to 20 yard "bombs" that are being thrown currently...

Well written sir. Gotta give the kid a second chance.

One would think out of 105 players on this team we could find one guy that could hand off and throw dink/dunk passes consistantly. You really would not have but a couple audibles count defenders in the box 8<= run 8> pass if defenders start to drop off at snap delay hand off/draw

The booing is objectionable, to say the least. It almost sounds like rantards shelling out booze money to buy game tickets.
I also noticed Jefferson's facial reactions to the hostile crowd. He was an unhappy young man Saturday night, down on his teammates, his coaches, the fans and himself. The Tiger Stadium crowd has always been known to intimidate the enemy. Now it directs venom toward its own starting quarterback -- whose level of play seems to suffer for the abuse.
Fans now clamor for Jarret Lee, the most villified QB in LSU history until JJ replaced him. With a reverse changing of the guard obviously too frightful for the coach to let it happen, I think it's clear that we're going to sink or swim with Jefferson. And in that case, cultivate the promising running game with Ridley and Blue and an improved offensive line. If the run is established, Shepard and Randall will have breakaway chances. Given the ridiculous failure of the passing game as a designed strategy, it's to come-to-grips situation: Defense and special teams are good enough to win the games the offense doesn't lose. These Tigers won't beat anybody by much, but they could beat anybody by a little if the offense could just stay out of trouble and hit a big play now and then. Offense needs to narrow its focus, find its identity, stop all the variation shennanigans, do what it does best and let the defense and special teams tip the scales. This is a mighty tough team. The offensive disarray is best corrected by simplification. I suspect this is a team that can line up and win without gimmicks.

Not clear what "change" you're referring to ... at the QB position, and/or, at the offensive coordinator/playcaller position?
I personally think a change of offensive coordinator/playcaller would do more good than changing the QB. Neither Jefferson nor Lee is suited to play in this offense. Plus, unimaginative, very predictable playcalling will hamper whomever is playing QB.
If Les is calling the plays, he needs to step aside and let Crowton or Gonzales call the plays.
If Crowton is calling the plays, he should be relieved of these duties and they should be given to Gonzales.
And yeah, I'd like to see what Lee could do. Until the last 3 games I wasn't saying that, b/c I thought Jefferson was performing adequately. At this point I don't think Lee could do any worse.

The american people wanted change and when that change came, the bulk of them wished they hadn't. The good thing about this situation is that we could change back to JJ immediatly (not 4 years later) if JL throws a pic 6. Just an obervation.

Yes, of course! It's a really easy game, any dumbass can consistently figure out within about 2 seconds that all his receivers downfield are covered and he *has* to dink it. Oh, and deliver the ball accurately when a 300 pound monster is in his face.
Every single time. Yes, this is a really easy game, in fact, why don't you just walk on?

To date, Jordan Jefferson's play has simply been horrific. HORRIFIC.
Hi Mike,
Being a supposed ex player, you would certainly know a coach is a bit more in tune about positional abilities than the fans. I wasn't aware you were spying on my practices. So please tell me something you've seen in Mr. Lee that maybe I've missed.
You think JJ is HORRIFIC? Wait till you see #2 QB under a pass rush.
Sincerely,
CLM
