Maybe he is better with less talent and a weaker conference. But that doesnt explain how he did so well at chicago. Im at a loss on this one. I dont know what the frick is up.Maybe just maybe our expectations are too high. Who knows. Im not lowering mine. I dont want to be middle of the road ever again

in 2005 Crowton was the OC at Oregon and with 4.5 games left starter Kellen Clemens went down vs Arizona. Dennis Dixon and Brady Leaf split time and UO went 4-1 losing to OK in the Holiday Bowl 17-14

Dixon was 69/104 777yds 66.3% 6TDS 3INTS 4sacks

in 2006 UO went 7-6 with Dixon as the starter and he was 197/322 2143yds 61% 12TDs 14 INTs 6 sacks

Oregon started the season 4-0 until they got beaten badly by Cal at berkley and Dixon started to struggle. They lost at Wazzou and then they lost 4 straight (USC/Zona/OSU and BYU in the bowl).

Crowton leaves and wins the MNC at LSU, Chip Kelly comes on board and Dixon is a serious Heisman candidate until he wrecks his knee at Arizona and is done for the year

Dixon's Stats

so Crowton had Dixon from a raw athlete and he worked with him for 2 years. kelly comes in and has Dixon for 2/3 of a season and Dixon was probably going to be a heisman finalist. was that 2/3 of a season of Dixon being productive all Kelly? or did Crowton working with the kid for two years help in that too?
