Since the governor and incoming administration wanted to move on.

There was no better hire imo.

I think the on field performance isn’t what they should expect. A ton of turnovers by the QB. No take the top off wideout.

Injuries to key players

You can only take what the portal offers and Leavitt was the best option at the time. You could tell Kiffin had reservations because he was willing to let Leavitt walk for the Washington QB but that obviously fell through which made us stuck with Leavitt. The other problems are injuries and Baker. It is really hard to overcome the losses of Weeks, Green, Reliford, Anding, Wright, Spears and Charles Ross. 2 of those guys would’ve been in on that punt return for a TD and probably made the tackle (Ross and Wright). Green would’ve made that 3rd down conversion. Weeks would’ve made that opening play tackle. You can’t lose that many key guys and expect it not to bite you.
Now Baker is a whole different story and it’s time to let him move on. He brought talent and stability back to the defense. It’s time we take that next step to become elite.

It was the groupthink hire. It wasn’t the best hire.
