Thanks. You obviously have been in the room with them. Thanks for sharing.

You realize that there are other programs in the sec that spends far more than lsu on special assts and recruiting. For example, bama's recruiting budget is 9 times what lsu's is. Alleva needs to pony up.

probably the most ignorant thing I've read on the Rant in a while... and thats saying something. We have a Top 5 paid staff... let that sink in and then post what you said again. We have top 10 talent in the state. How the hell can you post something that ignorant? A bad season for LSU should never end outside of the top 25 as long as we're shelling out this kind of money and remain in Louisiana.
Again, bama's recruiting budget is 9 times what lsu's is. They spend far more on special coaches as well.

Alleva is not doing shite.
He's a clown.

33 in the country- 7 in the sec
I get so tired of explaining this to you dumbasses. Lsu was 12th, in the entire country, in yards per play. But we were 105th in plays ran. Thats why we finished 7th in total offense in the sec . total offense is skewed by the # of plays you run.
If you seriously didnt think our 2013 offense wasnt elite youre stupid. Mett was 260 yards from throwing for more yardsn in a season, than any lsu qb ever and JHill had the 2nd most rushing yards in lsu history while setting the sec single season ypc record.

Alleva a has little to no power of Les, les is more powerful in BOS and TAF etc. at least as far as football....ever since Joe talked to Tn about the AD position, Les and Joe hardly speak...

So why didn't Les get his way with Chavis's wants?

Then explain to me how tOSU was able to win 11 games with their second and 3rd string quartebacks and then hang 42 on Alabama on a "Neutral" field with their 3rd string quarterback who had played what? 1game in a 59 to nothing blow out of Wisconsin where he mostly just handed the ball off. Against Bama he managed their offense with enough of a throwing threat to rack up 42 points and open up their running game. How much time does Les and Cam need to get a quarterback and offense going?
This is on the minds of many of us. How much darn time do the coaches think they have with these players? Things gotta happen now.

Really? You think the passing game doesn't have massive issues??

As I see it, Joe’s tack is that Les needs to stop trying to ‘buy’ his way to success and instead ‘coach’ his way to success. Put yourself in Alleva’s shoes for a moment. Other coaches have to find young coaching talent and develop them. Why can’t you? You convinced me to hire an OC that’s among the highest paid. What do I have to show for it? How much risk do I want to hitch the LSU football future to?
You see it wrong, then. Miles has had five assistants at LSU go on to head coaching jobs. The idea that he hasn't found young coaching talent and developed them is contrary to the factual record. So, if Alleva starts from this point, he is a moron. To answer your questions:
He has. See above.
A top 10 offense last season, and a crappy one this year. I'm not a huge fan of the Cameron hiring, but one mediocre hire is hardly a condemnation. We're replacing a pretty successful DC, who Miles also hired. That worked pretty well.
To one of the most successful coaches currently working? Quite a bit. In 10 years, Miles has 3 West titles, 2 SEC titles, a national title. That is, without a doubt, the most successful era in LSU history. So yeah, I'd hitch my wagon to that.
Or, if I read your post correctly, you are suggesting LSU not pony up money to pay for assistants... then that is the single dumbest idea ever posted on the Rant, and this place is a breeding ground for stupid ideas. Tanking the program in some ill-advised grudge you hold against Miles is not cutting off your nose to spite your face, it is putting your lips around the gun barrel. LSU has had one of the, if not the best defense over the past decade. Pay for a DC. We've gotten results there.

I'm gonna need to see your list on that one, so that we can see who you consider Miles' assts. And how they have done since they left

I subscribe to the novel concept that assistants under Miles count as assistants under Miles. If you want some other bizarre definition, that is your prerogative.
Fisher, Pelini, Porter, Peveto, and Monken were all LSU assistants under Miles who went on to head coaching jobs. If you remember, part of the rationale for hiring Chavis was to have a DC not interested in a head coaching job because we had too many DC's go on to head gigs, which is like one of those good problems.

Holee crap. You were serious
Fisher is a joke. Was already an LSU asst prior to Miles
Pelini, also a joke. Coached under Pete Carroll, Hayden Fry, Bob Stoops, Mike Sherman, Solich, and Siefert before ever working for Miles
Peveto
Porter, lasted all of two years as a head coach
Monken is 4-20 as a head coach.
Miles coaching trees looks very, very limp considering hes been a head coach for 14 years
