FWIW, the Aggies want the game on thanksgiving home and away but alleva didn't get anything out of this
I'm willing to bet they get it.

So what we got out of this deal was to NOT play our home game on Thursday?
How is it different for us to say we are going to play A&M on saturday night, but its cool A&M you can play your home game whenever you want? So glad they graciously allowed us not to play on thursday at home...as of now.

ill go a step further. they OWE it to season ticket holders to answer that exact question. yes OWE.
Season ticket holders are owed exactly one thing--season tickets. If you don't feel you are getting your money's worth, quit buying them. But this special sense of entitlement you have is absurd.

Naw they're owed this for sure. They dont deserve a personal phone call but Alleva most certainly is and should be held accountable.

CBS can choose this game as their once a year night game if they choose, just like they can choose any other SEC game to air once a year at night. Doesn't matter that its Thursday or not.
Now they won't do that but that's just the fact. They could if they wanted to do so.
So you're saying the conference can determine what days teams play, and it's up to CBS to either pick up those games or not? so then LSU not playing on Saturday after Thanksgiving...that's never been CBS's call the way we've been told?

Awesome. I'm no Alleva hater but giving the guy credit for keeping the game on a day most don't like instead of getting it moved to an even worse date, while A&M gets exactly what it wants for it's home game is not exactly a win I'd write home about.

EXACTLY!!! Without season ticket holders and TAF donors the whole building comes crumbling down. If A&M has the power to tell CBS to get fricked when the game is in College Station (for arguably what could be the top SEC matchup next year), why can't Alleva pull the same card when we have a big game at home and CBS wants it at 2:30. I'll go out on a limb with a bold prediction that we won't see 1 prime time SEC game this year in Tiger Stadium and Alleva will try to please the fans by saying oh, we tried, but those damn tv guys.
I think for a lot of us against the game being moved it isn't necessarily all about this game, it's about the perception that we are CONSISTENTLY getting screwed over and Alleva is powerless to do anything.

It's called compromise

I don't like it but the over reaction is just plain stupid
And is the bitching cause y'all think they'll get it sometime in the future? Hoollleeee shite

CBS has the right to flex one of the thanksgiving games for friday, it's in the contract with them. Traditionally it's been LSU/Arkansas

Most of the people on this board don't understand this concept. They cry over everything they don't like because they think that every LSU game should be played on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. Anything else just sucks. What's really funny is the way people are bitching and saying what should have gone down, yet they have absolutely no fricking clue what happened during negotiations.

It's getting comical to watch everyone get so fired up about some shite happening 2-3-4 years away.

So, every LSU/Arkansas game was scheduled for Sat but got moved to Fri because CBS wanted it that way?

CBS contracts calls for one night game designation and a Black Friday game.
They are then free to choose what game gets MOVED into those two slots.
They have chosen the LSU arky game for many years yes. Now they are free to choose another since those two teams don't play that weekend. Could be any SEC game scheduled for that weekend except the special Thursday road game(s) which can't be moved, but could be aired on CBS since its in CBS window of night schedule

Why can't we get an explanation then? That's all I'm asking for. What's the big secret?

Who knows? Do you know everything Texas A&M wanted on their schedule but had to give up?
I do know the open their season on a Thursday at South Carolina, they also have only 3 true home SEC games.

That the SEC didnt play before.

The SEC has played thanksgiving night before.
LSU and many others have played Thursday night games in the season.
A&M had a tradition of playing thanksgiving night for many many years. When accepted into the SEC the conference knew that was part of their history and their preference was to play every thanksgiving

Why would we give a shite what they gave up. We are obviously sacrificing more here. They left their traditions at the door when they came to our conference as far as I'm concerned. Why does nobody give a shite about LSU traditions.
