Ted Roof evelvated from Carl Franks staff - fired after 4 years with a 4-42 overall record.

Hired Carl Franks from Fred Goldsmiths staff when Goldsmith was fired. Franks posted an impressive 5 year record of 9-48!

That’s NINE fricking years of football negligence!

He was finally FORCED to hire outside and a search firm handed him Cutcliffe. But it took NINE years of misery and stupidity first.

Wow!

A search firm handed him Herman. He had 4 months to negotiate and Texas beat him in 10 min.

ETA: I don’t want to hear “We we’re never gonna best Texas” I just watched UCLA and Nebraska best Florida for a coach.

I saw A&M poach Florida States Coach.

The AD had one job that mattered. He threw up all over himself.

Man after the 11,000 threads about this hire, I think all of the points have been made.

Alleva is real serious about not being in bidding wars

Joe Alleva crumbles against adversity. he always takes the path of least resistance. He either is mediocre at any kind of intense negotiating or disinterested in it completely. Both are unacceptable. He also showed in the orgeron hire that he lets personal pride dictate his choices. He referenced saying he preferred a coach who wanted to be here rather than one who was trying to get more money (which no one should ever really blame a coach/agent for because that's their job and we'd all do the same thing). He's not a good AD. He can turn profits but LSU is also an incredibly successful brand on its own with its Big 3 sports capable of being national power houses and a fan base that loves to follow all sports and not just the Big 3.

"Negotiating" prowess like that should get you one thing: fired

UCLAs coach was afraid of the SEC.
Scott Frost is a Nebraska alum.
Similarly, Tom Herman is a UT alum, but unsure of the significance.

A&M vastly overpaid for their coach, a coach that isn’t afraid to mention how much he’d prefer to be in Baton Rouge.

Our AD should go immediately

And that’s without even mentioning how he brought scandal and undue shame to the LaCrosse program while he was there. Ruined people over a lying, murdering hooker...smdh

I truly believe LSU saved Duke from having to fire his arse.

How that incompetent, arrogant, evil scum has any administrative job at all is beyond me.

Alleva is a really bad AD and once gone LSU will be much better off. Too many programs are falling behind

Thank god for this info. I was under the impression Alleva was doing a great job and is well liked.

Herman got his masters while he was at the university as a GA. It’s not like he grew up a Texas fan and played for them.
Excuse

“Vastly overpaid” lol

In the first 2 years LSU has spent 5.4 mil a year on O and his OC’s.

Would you rather spend 7.5 a year for Jimbo
Or
Would you rather spend 5.4 a year on Orgeron and Einsminger

Pinch those pennies. That’s never hurt LSU before.

Not exactly. You have to remember. The board plays a huge part in LSUs hires. It has never appeared to me that Alleva has 100% control of all decisions in regards to hiring.

I'm so tired of the bitching about our coaches and AD. If you don't agree with it, stop going to the games and spending money. Otherwise, nothing will change.

And that goes for politicians too. If you don't like the way things are, make your voice heard.

Take away Jameis Winston and Jimbo becomes over rated very quickly. I am glad we did not give him that crazy contract.
