Ok.

Nobody knows anything other than DJ being the guilty party.

Now get some sleep.

you mean, the portions that were empty game after game??? the portions that he could sell to normal people and make $250 more per seat for the season on?

how dare the Athletic Director attempt to make the most money as possible by seizing and selling tickets for seats that aren't being used.

I'm not getting into this with you, because it would about as rewarding as slamming my nuts in the door - but tell me were you a student at LSU within the last 15 years?

I can't stand Miles ever since the OM game but any of you thinking he will be canned for this are grade A morons. I will eat dirt if I'm wrong...

Yes. I attended every home game for about 11 straight years. And, every home game I've attended for the last 5 years has seen a sizeable portion of the student section empty for entire games.

Now, I realize that some of this is due to students squeezing down to fit in low close to the field.

But, it makes since for the University to take those empty seats which costs a student 1/4th the price of a regular ticket, and sell them at full price to someone else.

Just like it made since to move the band to cheaper seats so they could sell the gold back seats for more money.

For what it's worth, I was told Miles knew and was told to fire McCarthy. He didn't. That pissed off Aleva. Let's see how the admin. and TAF handles this. They've had several months to let this feud fester...
I heard the same thing before the Arkansas game. First thing I thought was that this could be the out that we (those who want Miles gone) need.

I really hope this is true. I only hope that Alleva can work out a deal to punish the coaches involved and not the program or players that will be left behind.

Yeah, I know. Just not sure if the NCAA hates Miles like they hated Dale. Not sure they'd screw us just to screw us.

They can't do anything to us after the way they did nothing to USC after they bought Bush's parents a fricking house. This doesn't sound that bad. I hope.

Who knows, really? We're all just speculating at this point.

You will see alot of posters you have never heard of making lots of grand predictions claiming "inside sources/information". They hope they get lucky on a wild guess, so that they may get the respect here that they lack in real life.

Pathetic, and happens this time every year.

I believe you mean, sense. But, ignoring this, there are more than financial considerations in deciding how to allocate seating.

When I was a student, I attended every home game and you are right, for some games, the student section did not fill (nor did other parts of the stadium). But there were other instances when the section was way oversold. There were many games when students filled all of the seats, crammed in, and yet students spilled out into the stairs so that it was nearly impossible to move up or down the once the game started (Virginia Tech and Florida games in 2007 were like this for example). There is no way that this arrangement is safe.

Don't so quickly forget what it was like to be a student.

USC is USC. They were pretty quick to pass Dez Bryant's sentence.

Yeah, I have been reading this for a while, it looks like certain posters trying to make themselves seem more important than they are. I have gathered nothing more from these 16 pages than I got from reading the header in the original post.

I have not. LSU won 3 games my freshman year. I was able to buy as many season tickets as I could afford my freshman and sophomore year and sit wherever i wanted in the stadium.

I wondered then why our stupid AD (Dean at the time) didn't take away some of the student seats to make a greater profit.

That is a shame - mainly that the students missed out on that portion of going to a big state school.

But we both know, in the big games - it sure is nice to have that packed student section - because they probably make more noise than the rest of the stadium combined.

huh. as much as I don't like it, it's all about the money. it makes sense logically and has had zero impact on the number of students who have gone to games. Why?

Because, LSU took into account the total number of student tickets that were upgraded to normal tickets every game for two season. Then, they took away a number that was lower than this number and made those seats permanent regular season seats.

The students screwed themselves by buying tickets and selling them for profit or upgrading them to bring family/friends. It also doesn't help that every game had an empty section in the student section.
