Good list but my money would be on the field which would include Shaq.

And John Brady would scream at him for 30 minutes until those squirrel cheeks turn red

Leonard Mitchell

Somebody tell if my recollection of this is flawed but i recall that dude went up for a dunk, was grabbed by a trailing defender, hit his head on the backboard. Grabbed the rim in the process to try to protect himself and got called for a technical. Couldn't grab the rim for any reason back then in the college game.

I was like

Mitchell was listed as 6'7" Cook was 6'9" Mitchell would jump for the tipoff. springs in his legs.

My vote would be Sky Dwayne. Seem to recall Rudy Maclin could get up as well. Surprised he wasn’t mentioned

Most surprising and most appreciated. Jabari was fun to watch.

I hope his Son comes home and makes one even better.

I'm going old school. Dewayne Scales for the win.

Excellent choice. Mine comes from the same team - Rudy Macklin. I used to love watching him take a ball that had bounced off the back of the rim and jam it home!

Yeah, Scales could dunk, but his turn around jumper from the top of the key is what I remember best about him. As someone said, when he was on, there was no one better anywhere, anytime.

Swift, Tyrus, Smith, Shaq were all great dunkers. But I'm a little biased against 6'9+ guys because of the built in advantage of height/length. Taylor, on the other hand, is 6'5" and seems to almost levitate when he reaches the apex of his jump. LSU has had many great athletes over the years. Taylor might be the best pure leaper of them all

exactly.

It's why Vince Carter is the best dunker ever. 6'6" but he jumps so high, and seems to stay in the air for so long, it's just so smooth looking. Marlon is very similar in that way.

In game?

Close call between Dupree and Vernel, but I’ll say Vernel. If Vernel could palm the ball better he could probably smash em from the free throw line.

Dupree could get up really high, but V would get up really high and lay out Superman style looking down on the defender he was about to smash on. I wish I knew the year, but he totally flew over an Ole Miss guy in a game
