Just wondering out loud

You didn't mention walking the bases loaded while your HC and pitching coach almost come to blows.

But LSU scoring the exact number of runs that their pitcher gave up per 9 this season was a problem?

The CWS Finals has gone to a third game 7 times. The team who lost Game 1 is 4-3 in those series. Also historical odds.

We just have to win one of the first two games. That was pretty much the plan all along. Winning Game 1 would have been gravy.

I did mention it. Mainieiri left Reynolds in a bit too long. It was one of the mistakes of the game.

All of the pressure was on Florida tonight. Taking tonights game with a massive advantage for Florida on the mound would have been game over.

I couldn't imagine trusting anyone more than Poche and Lange over the next two days. Those guys live for this stuff.

The sun scorching down on God's green earth and blinding Watson on a ball he always tracks down was a big fricking bummer. Damn you Omaha for being so far north and having the sun that high in the sky in the evening.

Agreed.

I also hope Faedo starts on Wednesday. Not really because he might not be as effective on short rest after throwing so many pitches last time out, but because him starting the game creates a different mindset for our guys.

If he starts, you know he won't be able to go his normal full length, and if you can just get him out of the game relatively early, it's advantage LSU.

If he doesn't start, you know he's lurking out there in the bullpen the whole game. If you fall behind by a run, or even if the game is tied into the 5th or 6th inning, knowing he could come in and pitch the last 3 or 4 innings can be somewhat intimidating. That feeling of uncertainty can mess with you.

Hopefully it's Faedo vs. Lange in Game 3. I think that pitching matchup favors LSU.

Just doesn't seem fair to me to expect Lange to roll out of bed on one day less rest and take care of business when you couldn't do that with Poche.

Now both face elimination, when one of them could have pitched with an even slate.

Just my humble opinion before the fact

And it'd just be a badass way to close out the season. Two conference rival powerhouse programs throwing their ace first round draft picks for the National Championship. Doesn't get any better than that.

That ball looked like it was hit on the end of the bat. Can't believe it went that deep. Regardless, it should have been caught. Not only did Watson get a bad jump, but he gave up on it too early when the ball barely even reached the warning track.

I agree on your Game 3 Faedo thoughts, but I give O'Sullivan more credit than that.

Well there's only 3 games. There's nothing we can do to control that. If we have to go wholestaff one day, might as well get it out of the way early and let our two best guys get as much rest as possible.

You had a choice with poche. 4 or 5. You don't have that luxury with Lange

I thought the same thing. He thought the wall was closer than it actually was. He would've caught it had he not stopped.

I didn't see it that way.

I gave a lot more weight to the first game.

FL's weak arse lineup and momentum and such.

Hope it works out
