All of this “make so-and-so say no” talk…

Has anyone forgotten that this is exactly how LSU got Brian Kelly to town? With all of the accusations floating around that he was checked out, does it really make sense to hire someone whose interest is only in a big payday?
But hey…if that’s the approach this administration wants to stick with, then after Saban and Lemming say no, I have a “make him say no” name to throw out there that nobody else is bringing up.
He’s got experience at LSU and is part of the Saban tree. He’s demonstrated his ability to consistently compete for titles while playing an SEC schedule. He’s beaten Saban head to head. Supposedly, the LSU job is just inherently the best (and is therefore better than his current job).
Make Kirby Smith say no.

Who cares how much money it takes to bring in a coach and who cares what it took to get them here? Just get who you think is the best.
We are fans. We don’t deal with the finances. And we also do not know 100% what the finances are with sponsor deals. Why do yall get so bent out of shape of how much a coach is paid? It’s not your business. You have no control. Why let it bother you?

Well Kirby Smith definitely won't say no. He has been dead since 1893.

Me personally I think Woodward needs to give you a call and make you say no, please, don’t, stop, quit.

Hellz yeah! I can not make the playoffs for a lot cheaper than BK did!
But although cheaper, I’m afraid the buyout will still be substantial on account of my having to put my highly lucrative TD career on hold and put my TD 9.5 wife on ice while saving the university money in this fashion.

You were close then you lost the thread. There are 3 national title winning coaches in CFB and they all have something in common. They didn’t have long, distinguished head coaching resumes and were not splash hires. Hire a good football coach. He doesn’t need to be a household name, he doesn’t need 10 years of 10 wins seasons or championships. Btw there is no coach who fits that standard anyway or most of the standards you see posted on the Rant. The talent is here, the money is here, hire somebody who can coach the game on Saturdays.
