Thanks for sharing and sorry for your loss. Growing up in BR, I cherish my weekends coming down in the fall and staying at my parents house. Home cooked breakfast, drinking coffee and discussing LSU with pops on Saturday & Sunday mornings are priceless. Wish I had more of them.

I'm sorry for your loss. 50 is a very young age to pass away and you have all of my sympathy. I can't imagine losing my parents and I sincerely pray that it's a very, very long time from now until I have to experience that pain. I tear up just thinking about it. Keep on keeping on and welcome to the Rant!

I understand where you are at.
Lost my dad at 57, when I was 21. Let's just say that I didn't handle that very well.
I have a feeling that you are going to do much better than I did.
I can say that as time goes by, all that remains are the great memories. Almost every memory of my dad was from when we were hunting and fishing together.
Sounds to me like he passed on a great legacy to you, as I'm sure you will do one day with your children.
Kind of weird typing this, as I am a 50 year old dad myself.

Sounds like a true Tiger fan, there through thick and thin. Sorry for the loss.
The fans can get crazy but I know it's because we care and love LSU. I think this is a good site for LSU fans

Damn it's posts like this that make me want to leave work and hang out with my Dad. He's 54 and I know time spent with him is something I'll never replace! Good frickin post. Sorry for your loss dude! Kudos to keeping his memory alive.

It is weird how on TD people can be soo ruthless, sick, and messed up with cut throat mofos, but when you post something like this it hits their cold micro sized Grinch hearts and strikes a cord. I'm sorry for your loss. What you described is what my dad and I are like. At the end of the day we are all just a bunch of softies though who love our Tigers and family dearly. Welcome aboard and enjoy your stay!!

There are a lot of jerks that post here, but it's hard to find a better place to share the passion the we all have for LSU especially you and your father. God bless your family.

Alright....who's cutting onions in here?!?
I up voted your post. It sounds to me like your dad did a great job raising his son.

Watch it buster!!!
But seriously, good post. Know the feeling and will miss my dad when we can't hang out and talk football, golf, or fishing anymore.
Unfortunately, he's a an Arky grad (gawd I just gagged typing that), but we still have spirited "discussions" on SEC football.

I will miss that when he is gone.
I remember the first season after my Dad passed. It sucked.
