Houstons baseball team has won 40 games twice in the past 3 years and Houston isn't a full on Big12 market. A&M and LSU have a very strong presence in Houston.

They done the research on the remaining 8 schools in contention and Houston is in the middle of the pack in every category except market. No matter how many LSU and A&M fans are in Houston it's still very much a Big 12 market. TTU, UT, Baylor, TCU are all in close enough proximity to Houston.

If they go big12, I think he makes like 7 mil a year. That's way to much for a guy like him. Maybe 7 mil for Fisher but not herman

I can't see the political will with folks in FEMA trailers. Last season was the time to do it.

Yeah I didn't realize they are that big. I still don't think they get in for reason I stated. It's all about tv deals and markets now. But like I also said, I could be wrong. Good thing we'll know mid October.

Houston can never pay what LSU can, even with the dire straights they've been in financially.

They have some big time boosters including Red McCombs. They can pay him.

Red McCombs is 100% UT....so much so the Business School is named after him..

so much fail here....

Oh lawd you people are nuts... He's not going to Texas and if LSU really pushes he would come here whether they go to big 12 or not. How's that?

Linked fixed and you don't have to be an alum to be a fan.

Alumni bases are by far the biggest fans.

That's true. The original article I read stated it as a raise to around 8 mil after two years (in the big 12) but that's false.
I think Herman might be worth throwing 6 mil at and seeing if it sticks and capping at 7.
He beat Alabama (and won a NC) as an OC.
In his last two games he's beaten Jimbo and Oklahoma (both top 10) with friggin HOUSTON.
1 5 star on the roster. and 3 4 stars..
All freshmen.
Imagine what he could do with 60!

I know this isn't based on television, but looks orange to me.

Link? The $5 million agreement is a bonus, not a raise. He makes 2.8 million a year currently.

This is what I've kept wondering about too. They say bonus, not a raise. But like I've said time and again, it doesn't make much since for Houston to get into the Big 12 over others on the list. They don't bring anything extra to the table, but the possibility of adding another good football team.

Not academics, not another good sports team, average fan support, not a new media market, and no new recruiting grounds.

Seriously, Houston brings very little to the discussion.

Was all in for Herman last year but everybody wanted Jimbo. I would've been fine with that but preferred Herman.
