He may be the best route runner and downfield blocker in the draft. These are HUGE things that NFL scouts look at.

L Seastrunk runs a 4.3 40 and his short list for 2010 is LSU and Texas. Listed as a running back.

Lafell is a Bowe clone IMO. I'd expect him to get drafted in about the same spot as DB.

Lafell was a great receiver, blocker, and leader for LSU last year....the biggest and best surprise of any other LSU player afer suffering with catching the ball in his earlier years....he came back and made some great plays both blocking, catching, and running after the catch for the Tigers late last year and all of this year....
while we have lots of talent to cover for him next year, he will be missed.....
unless my eyes deceived me this year, he seemed to be one of the few offensive players that remained vocal and positive throughout the year....just didn't have enough support from other players around him. He will be missed!!
GOOD LUCK, MR. LAFELL.

Nolan Richardson . former head basketball coach at Arkansas. Dean won the 2004 or 5 slam dunk contest . 6 ft and could jump out the gym.

Lafell isn't as fast as he is quick...I think hes more Bowe's 40 time than you think. His agility though, is another thing. He gets up field quick and his lateral movement is great for someone his size. His route-running is about as good as you're going to get in CFB. Someone is going to take him in the first-round if he has a good combine. Question marks will be his consistency of hands and gamebreaking speed IMO.

I think Lafell has the same freakish ability to jump a very high vertical. that is pretty much all im sayin. 43 is very good. it is also a little more common than you think.

Granted Bowe now is bigger the BL, but coming out of school they were basically the same size.

Am I the only one that thinks Lafell going pro early is the most stupidest thing he can do??
His hands are horrible, and I'm not saying this b/c he is leaving LSU early, for a while during the season, I wished TT would receive more playing time than him.
Lafell is a good blocker, and I guess he is a good route runner, but his hands are aweful. I'm just suprised at him leaving early.

his hands arent as awful as your spelling, he improved them quite a bit from the 2007 season
and the reason he dropped so many balls that year, and caught so many this year, is because he is a GREAT route runner, not an OK one. he knows when to cut, how to find holes in the defense, he just knows how to get open, flynn, lee, jj, hatch, they all saw that.
his 40 time will be the make or break decision factor in determining if he goes in the first or second
