After the Bama game I had no interest in a rematch

I didn't see any value in beating them again. I wanted to see LSU match up against Clemson and/or Ohio St or even Oklahoma.

However, after reading/listening to Bama fans whine and complain about deserving a rematch and the media/talking heads laying out excuse after excuse for Bama, I want this more than another match up.

The first time we took their heart. This time we need to take their soul. beating them twice in one season will deliver a death blow that Bama may not recover from.

So bring it on. No mercy.

They don’t deserve it, stop giving into their entitlement.

There is no value in playing them again. Would we have gotten a rematch? Hell no. We beat them at their house. It’s time for another team to get a shot. They should not be rewarded for placing second in their division of their conference.
They have played nobody with a pulse except LSU.

Hard pass. Their melt from being left out is better than the risk that we’d have to take beating them a second time in a season

I only want to play again if it's a guaranteed win

Is that fair ?

Well, they have been “put” in the position to make the playoffs. After we beat UGA, they slither into No4 spot.

Without the SEC refs and with a potent offense, I would not expect a repeat of 2011.

A rematch after LSU plays a extra game against a team better than anyone on their crap schedule? Losing and getting a rematch is an easier path, one which they definitely have not earned or deserve. They didn't get it done, they need to sit this one out.

You realize, Alabama nut riding sportswriters were saying before the game that losing to LSU would be winning because they wouldn't have to take the beating of an SEC Championship game and could just sit back and wait for the inevitable invitation to the playoffs?

Worst thing that can happen to Alabama is missing the playoffs.

frick 'em.

This is my biggest issue with it.

In Alabama, you have a school that’s signed the #1 recruiting class in 8 of the last 10 years I believe. With all that talent, they literally play 2 real games a season. LSU and Auburn. Their schedule is routinely consistent with a PAC 12 team yet they hide behind this notion that all SEC schools play brutal schedules every year.

They should not be allowed in unless they’re undefeated with the cupcake schedule they have every year. Letting them in is rewarding them for playing a garbage schedule.

Oh I agree. They don't deserve jack and like I said there's little value in beating them. The only caveat is beating them twice and a wider margin could be a program killer for Bama. That would be 2 straight CFP beat downs, a changing of the guard in the SEC and I could see Nicky heading off to Shady Acres. He looks and sounds like a guy that's already got one foot out the door.

The privilege they receive is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t see how their 5 point loss makes them better than the auburn, Texas, and Florida teams that we also beat by one touchdown. The major difference I see is auburn and Florida have redeemed themselves with wins against solid competition. And what does Alabama have to be proud of? A win against the aggies? I hope auburn goes on to get beat down by Georgia and the narrative can be silenced that they’re great. A win against an 8-4 auburn team won’t look quite as impressive then

Rematches almost never turn out well.

We won they lost - move along!

This. I think LSU is the better team, but if Bama snuck in and eliminated LSU from the CFP, it might effectively kill the LSU program.

I agree with the OP. Bama has more to lose in a rematch and I’m positive that they would not see the same game plan. We can play better and they can play better. That said, we don’t make that decision and any Gump who believes that we would rather play Clemson or OSU over them is delusional. We KNOW that we can beat Bama because we just did it in their stadium.
