I don't think they're top five. I didn't think so before the game. But they are a hard nose team with a solid system. They have an outstanding defense. Their offense was no match for our defense. They were missing their top receiver, and the other guys were mismatched against our defensive backs. Also, our front 7 ate them alive. So how good are they? I'm guessing about a ranking of 10.

Kelly’s idiocy at the end of both halves kept it from being an easy win.

Who are these coaches that don't have plays or series you can bash when using hindsight? Your hate for Kelly shows brother.

There’s no hate, it’s a fact that the end of both halves were poorly handled.

You hate Jay Johnson too, so hopefully the results are the same.

Obviously we can't know anything after one game. But recent history has seen Clemson very consistently be a good football team (at least). There is no reason I'm aware of to suspect this year will be any different. Whether this is one of their merely "good" teams or one of their multiple "really good" or "great" teams of recent history remains to be seen.

But even if they are just "good", I feel like it's a good showing for us beating a quality opponent on the road with a rebuilt OL. I'm very encouraged.

Lying as usual. You disappear from baseball threads when LSU plays well. You are clueless.

Stats don’t matter, he was bad when even slightly pressured. That doesn’t take away from our ability to pressure him, not sure why this is being conflated in a defensive way.

I can't speak for others, but I suspect that some would take issue with the language "even slightly pressured". Last year he experienced being "slightly pressured" quite a bit and was pretty good in the face of it. Saturday night he was subjected to being quite a bit more than "slightly pressured" and he wasn't very good in the face of that. I think that would be a fair characterization, recognizing that his struggles Saturday were more likely the result of the extraordinary performance of our D than Klubnik's lack of ability.

Vs the blitz and vs pressure are separate stats. Compare his numbers vs solid to good defenses to the cupcakes he usually faces

9 games vs legit opponents
59.3% completion
222.2 ypg
9 TDs
8 INTs
117.1 passer rating
15.6 ppg

His other 16 games
64.5% completion
324.3 ypg
48 TDs
11 INTs
142.8 passer rating
37.9 ppg
