Actually, a win by LSu would have been worse for the future because Miles would never abandon 70s style.

The same style that produced a 1,000 runner, (2) 1,000 yard receivers and a 3,000 yard passer on one team for the first time in SEC history?

It worked perfectly our players didnt execute on critical plays! bad throws, dropped balls, missed blocks and crap squib kick at end cost us the game! Period! We won and GAVE it away at the end!

What happened during the bowl game last year? We became the 2014 LSU Tigers. Run-run-pass-punt.

Even with Landry and beckham and hill we ran last nights offense. Nothing to get our playmakers the ball in space like Bama did last night with cooper. We call fades and throw deep balls. How many passes did Cooper catch short of 10 yards down the field? (8) How many did he drop (3). We are limited, I'm not arguing that but we use a JV high school playbook with NFL talent.

Very simple LM will never change just cannot adjust and change directions. Not removing J J may be the worst coaching decision I have witnessed

So it's kind of like the Olympics, right? Every 4 years we get a passing game. When the qbs and wrs are all grownup and wicked smart then we get to mix it up a little. Thanks for clearing that up; now I have something to look forward to.

You are exactly right. Miles had to adapt his offensive approach to his QB's ability. Harris has the ability to stretch defense. Jennings does not. There's a huge difference between a QB throwing deep on occasion to keep a defense honest and a defense having to respect your QB's ability to throw 25-yard comeback routes across the field.

This is the rare as hen's teeth exception. How many times has anything close to this happened under CLM. With those players, if it had not happened would have been another shame.

I'm right here. We played great last night. We need to develop our passing game but the offensive playing calling and philosophy are spot on.

You can call all the pass plays you want. If they're not working, it's an exercise in futility. You need a good ground game to open up a passing game. Second, when you are working with a team as young as this one, you generally are going to call more conservatively. Young players' egos are pretty fragile and they tend to get down on themselves when there is little or no success. Consequently, you try to put players in a position to have success, based on their talent, maturity, and experience. Many of us knew this team was not going to be an NC team, and instead "a work in progress or a rebuilding year" before the season started. While the QB does leave something to be desired, so do those dropped passes that should have been caught. The youth factor is alive and well this season. After the season is over, I am quite sure that Miles and staff are going to look at the overall body of work and figure out what can be fixed for next season - which is a lot easier to ascertain when you are outside of the season instead of in the middle of it. You can make little corrections during the season, but many of the big corrections occur during Spring and pre-season Fall practices.

I was rather sick at what happened last night as well, but Miles' "offensive philosophy" really had little to do with the outcome.

Well hopefully we can do a better job or recruiting and developing QB's that don't want to transfer or get kicked off the team. You can't have 15 QB's on the roster like you can with DB's and DL's.

I would agree that we really need to look at what criteria we are using for recruiting QB's.

But doesn't this kinda go with what you're saying about the type of QBs we are recruiting?

What I'm trying to say.....We did a host of things right. Overall the philosophy of strong D, Run the ball, Control the line is ON POINT.

But writing off our loss to youth is also not too solid. We have 2 games left in the season and we weren't playing a veteran Bama squad. They had a lot of youth out there too. So does most of this league. This is 4 straight losses to this opponent.

We need to think about the type of QB we are using while we are MIXING it in with our style of offense. Dual inside a Pro style offense. We need better play calling. Better coaching and MORE development in the overall passing game.

Play calling was perfect through 4 quarters. Philosophy worked in this game.

Execution from the quarter back and WRs was amiss which ultimately lost LSU the game.

After the drop by Jones in OT running the ball could have possibly put us in a position to get the first down but that's a big IF.
