“When the safety numbers are low and the corner numbers are high, I moved to safety. And now the corner numbers are low and the safety numbers are high, [so] it’s a possibility I could move to corner,” Mills said. “I haven’t really met with the defensive staff yet. I’m pretty sure something is going to happen pretty soon with spring ball right around the corner.”

We started White and Robinson as FR in 2013 and it hurt us. Young DB's had coverage breakdowns throughout the season. Remember the game at GA... We had the O (QB) that season, but the D was suspect. I would be very surprised to see Tolliver start early, given the amount of returning talent and experience.
Tre White was the only one to start the majority of that year. Robinson didn't even play in that Georgia game I don't believe
You know who did? Mills, which promptly got burnt consistently.
We had cover wage break downs that game because we didn't have safety's that knew what they were doing. It wasn't on the young corners, not entirely. Tre white was lights out his freshman year

no way ! he might not be as big as some but man he has the heart - love him in the dime when he can free style a little - really both of them !
If he's your second best corner, you absolutely have to move him. The depth is there at safety.
Cb, not so much. D Thomas coming off of injury, and most likely will be used as your nickle. Still don't know what you have in KT until he gets on the field. Paris has always struck me as a safety in the long run.

don't understand the hate on Mills
I don't hate him, he just seems to get more credit than he's earned. His attitude was much better this year compared to the last... didn't see him point or use negative body language towards another player. He did make some plays as well. He's just not consistent.

This is funny to me. Last year per most of the rant J Collins and Martin were LSUs weak spots on the back end. Both will get drafted and Collins in the 2nd or 3rd round at this point. Now it is apparently Mills turn to feel the wrath of the all knowing rant.
I will admit when I'm wrong, but as a LSU fan, I am not worried in the least about the DB's. LSU is DBU for a reason.
In my opinion, Mills will stay at safety and do well,
as will Jefferson. Paris may move to safety or may not. I think the new toys will play well, but I would like to see them in action. MR V and MR B and Mr G may have an impact as well.
Again other than possibly RB, the LSU DBs will be the best position group on the team and possibly the best in the nation or very close at the worst.

Toliver is nasty. Saw him in person and the guy is physical and quick like a cat.
i have only seen video, but he is extremely physical If you want to play man coverage he is going go maul the WR at the line and has the speed to stay with him.
White and Tolliver
I think jackson can come off the edge like Tyrann Matthieu in a nickel. He has that kind of speed and burst. I never saw a TE or Olinemenget even a hand on Matthieu. IF you didn't have a linebacker on his side you were done.

I think Mills is serviceable and capable of making plays, but he is prone to giving up big plays. Most of his mistakes are mental. He could've made plays to end the game against Bama the last two games, but ended up being out of position and gave up big plays.

Steele needs to design a defense where we can use 8 DBs at the same time.
