LSU always goes for the bargain basement hires. And has the delusion that players and coaches alike are unquestioningly salivating Pavlov's dog-style, to come eat gumbo and play football in this shabby utopia.

I agree with some of what you say but the mere fact not a single QB who transferred out of LSU (rettig rivers Jennings Harris) had any success makes me think that LSU didn’t use the guys incorrectly, they just weren’t that good

I kinda believe that starting at the right school, they'd have been at the very least, competent.

if so, then maybe our HS QB evaluation process is part of the problem

Let's not forget the talent Mett had at wide receiver. Those two guys caught anything that was anywhere near them. BTW what did Mett do in the NFL?

Game manager is a guy like AJ McCarron who largely gives you what a QB is supposed to do but just doesn't happen to be a difference maker on his own.

Lol, game manager my arse. McCarron had 58 pass TDs and averaged 9.2 ypa his last 2 years. If a game manager throws 28 TDs and averages over 9 yards a pass in a strictly pro style offense, how in the hell can you consider that just managing the game? That's like saying Jamarcus Russell was a game manager. You mean to tell me Mccarron didn't make any throws worth mentioning?

Look man. I just pulled up a name.

My point is, there's a whole lot of space between Cam Newton and Anthony Jennings. A whole lot of space where a great deal of success can be had.

Well of course he did. THAT's my point. You can be a very good QB and still be a game manager for the most part.

We've just become accustomed to the term "game manager" meaning, "sucks arse as a QB but maybe doesn't turn it over".

So, we think that our choices are "game manager" or "Tom Brady".

I submit that what we are calling "game manager" at LSU is just really a sorry QB.
