Somewhere, Tennessee's starting lineup just peed a little.

For the sake of argument, what would be his benefit to coming back? He loses all leverage for next year. Isn’t it possible he could go in the first few rounds next year and get offered basically $5000 and that’s it? That said, I’m glad he is coming back. We can definitely use him.

He didn’t get drafted
What exactly is he passing up?

No
Show me a bunch of examples of that
That is pretty big exaggeration

I see now. What do guys who go undrafted do? Do they have a route for free agency like the NFL or NBA?

Start selling insurance or do pitching/hitting lessons

Jake Mangum 4th Round Pick
He signed for 20K. The year before with leverage he signs for a few hundred thousand. I don’t know much about this stuff. I find it interesting how the draft punishes kids for coming back for their final year. Also I will be interested to see what Dugas gets.

To me, first few means first 3 rounds
Again that Deadspin article isn’t about first 3 rounds
Regardless almost everyone in first 10 rounds signs
Yes college seniors drafted after first few rounds get less

Ok, lol he was in the 4th. I’m not arguing about a “few”. I was on the main draft thread and basically what those guys were saying is a college senior has zero leverage. They have to sign for whatever is offered. What else can they do? Say no?

Thanks, that’s good to know. Sometimes these classifications can be wrong. I’m glad he was only a sophomore as far as baseball eligibility. Glad for him.

Well why offer a college senior even a dollar? They can’t say no right?
But yeah this discussion is pretty moot for Ack. If he gets offered a dollar next year, that is more than this year
