All three are getting first team reps. Nothing is decided.

This early in camp, people read too much into that kind of stuff.

They see what they want to see. They'll also be angry when they don't get their way later in the year.

Daniels is going to play this season regardless of who the starter is.

And today most 1st team reps will go to another QB. This will be the procedure until the coach identifies the starting QB.

Well looky here from Dandy Don this morning
“Daniels’ footwork has been getting a lot of attention from the staff. Denbrock said it’s an ongoing process and improvement there will increase Daniels’ accuracy.“

Lol, how in the hell do you know?
Listening to the Coaches Press Conference.
Maybe the extra work was necessary due to his bad footwork and inaccuracy, despite the desire for coaches wanting a QB with his speed to play the position.
He said it takes 10,000 reps to change a bad habit. Do you believe he will get those 10,000 reps prior to Sept 4?

quote:I just saw a guy in Kenny Pickett play for 5 years, start 4 of them. Mediocre at best, bad at worst. In his 3rd year starting (4th year playing), he threw for 2400 yards and 13 TDs to 9 int (he threw 13 TDs to 9 ints in his 2nd year starting as well). Fans disliked him, were ready for him to leave, etc. In his last season he threw for 4300 yards and 42 TDs to 7 ints. He ran for another 240 yards and 5 TDs. Before that year he had completed between 58 and 61% of his passes, in 2021, he completed 67%.
Serious question: does this ever work? I can't think of a single QB with accuracy issues, or a hitch in their motion, or any issue like that, who had it addressed and went on to compete at a high level. Maybe Jalen Hurts?
Hendon Hooker at VT didn't throw for much yards and didn't throw much, but in 11 games with 2 starts he threw for 9.6 yards per attempt with 13 TDs to 2 ints. His 2nd year starting he fell back throwing 9 TDs to 5 ints with a similar amount of pass attempts. VT fans hated him, called him all kinds of names when he transfered. Went to Tennessee and was seen as competition as backup at best. Didn't start the first game, hell not even the 2nd game, but after the starter finally sucked too hard in a game and a half, they put Hooker in and he destroyed. 2850 yards, 9.7 ypa 68% cmp 31 TDs 3 ints in 11.5 games. Ran for another 600 yards and 5 TDs.
When I look at these two, I see the potential for Daniels to do the same. Both QBs had/have great receivers, were mobile, and both had doubters and not many in their corners as the starter.

This is getting ridiculous. If Brian Kelly wants to win big his first year he knows he needs to see early on if Brennan can be the guy he was the first 2 games of 2020. If he throws the ball like that out of the gate and can read defenses he's going to take LSU far.
Everyone forgets how Saban used 2 qbs (Sims and McCarron) early on one season - even in the opener against Penn State - before settling on McCarron. I look to Kelly to do that as well.
As good a time as any for a bump.
