No, Woodward isn't married to Emmert's daughter. I believe Woodward's step son is married to Emmert's daughter.

So you have a school unknowingly recruiting someone who signed their LOI weeks prior. That’s a big no no.

Seems like that’s a problem with the system if a kid can secretly sign a letter of intent and put schools at risk for their failure to know this.

Add the school he signed with then reporting a violation.

If this is the case, Clemson should have turned in a bunch of major programs.

This could walk us down the line of a potential death penalty depending on the violations. You know the NCAA wants someone to be their bitch?

I think we're going to get some bowl bans at the very least so don't expect anything on this season. Going to suck. frick you Cregg you POS. I never liked you and this just proves it.

You sound like an idiot with this.

Unfortunately I don’t think timing was taken into consideration

You fire someone for minor violations? I guess that might be true since we're in a probation period. Otherwise, they commit small violations all the time. I'd have to think you have at least 1 major in there somewhere to get fired. Maybe not. Guess we'll find out.

No, you fire someone for something more serious, report the minor violations, and hope it’s enough cover.

That would be incredibly stupid if that's their ploy here.

And his recruiting hasn't exactly been dynamite. LSU will lose most, if not all of their starting OL after this year and it looks like they will have to rely on guys who (for the most part) in 3-4 years haven't been good enough to see snaps on a weak OL
They won the award for best OL in the country in 19! Sucked in 20. Rosenthal(replacing NFL Charles)/Ingram will play in NFL. Ware showed as at least average when they were out. C/RG play had to come down a notch. 2 first day NFL starters gone. Dec level of play regressed due to absence of studs around him.
Can't wait to hear the silence if 2 or 3 of Martinez/Bradford/Dumervil/Dellinger/Hill/Thomas(!) have significant roles in a 9 or 10 win season.
Talent wise, we don't know if they can perform at SEC level or not. They were all younger than the existing options that should have performed better.
Think I'll start a post on the real reason the line sucked in 20

My thoughts are the reasons for Cregg's firing can't be discussed openly. Maybe it has something with something that is illegal. It could be recruiting violations or something to do with sexual harassment. Hard to believe O would fire Cregg unless it was very serious.

Can someone PLEASE tell us what happened rather than the "we broke some rules"?

Tristan Leigh had signed his LOI with Clemson during the early signing period. No one outside of his family and Clemson were aware. LSU and prob 1-2 other schools were still actively recruiting him since he said he would announce at the All American game. So you have a school unknowingly recruiting someone who signed their LOI weeks prior. That’s a big no no. There are also lesser actions. You can also take into account that Cregg wasn’t able to consistently land big recruits that some believe were LSU locks at during points during the process. Look for LSU to lose another scholarship for 1-2 years and some recruiting time whether it be on campus or in home.
