About Visiting Bands And Performing

I don't know if this is still the case, but in 2005 and 2007 my daughters each spent 1 year in Tiger Band. Back then, the full band made one road trip per year, and for that game, they performed at half time, just as A&M did tonight. It was a bus trip where the band members left early on the day of the game and returned home afterwards, usually getting back in the wee hours on Sunday.
For all other road games, a "pep band" of 90 or so students traveled to those sites and stayed in the stands for the duration of the game.
It is disappointing that A&M performs the same show year after year. If you're going to go to the effort of traveling and performing, can't they do something different?

Am I the only one who could kinda give frick all about the bands situation?
Opposing teams bands shouldn’t even be performing. That’s so weird.

The Aggie band does things different. Pay attention. And for the record what they do is incredibly complex.

Absolutely. IMHO they are the best collegiate marching band in the country. By far. Their precision in their flashback drills is unmatched. They march six to five (six steps every five yards), whereas 99% of every marching band on earth marches eight to five. Their lines are impeccably dressed. I am always happy to see them perform. I don’t care if they do the same thing.

That A&M show was the most boring halftime show I have ever seen.

This is still the case. LSU sent the full Tiger Band to A&M last year I believe. The full band trip is usually either Ole Miss, Auburn or Moo State. They've been to Florida before and Vandy once or twice too. They were supposed to travel to Auburn this year, but Auburn denied the request to march, so we are not having a full band trip this season, only pep bands.
I was told by a coworker who has a kid at UT that Texas wants to bring their full band to Baton Rouge. Their band is huge, over 400 members, so I don't know if it will happen.
