I know im in the minority, but i thought he did a fine job last year. I was suprised he was not promoted then. We put up amazing numbers. I know. but what about florida and bama game. Without Guice going wrong way and fumbles we win that game going away. My only gripe was against bama. We should have gave Guice more carries and played Harris , because you could tell Etling was not going to get it done. Our oline was completely manhandled in that game. I thought Ensmingers offense was way better than Canadas to be honest. Will be interesting to see what he can do with a year to prepare.

423 total yards and 10 points. There's no excuse.

That's on O and Ensminger. Everyone in the stadium knew guice was getting more room than LF7. He was running like a bat out of hell when LF7 couldn't do anything.

I'm not happy with SE as OC, but in his defense, he was thrown into it mid-season.

Again, not happy with the promotion, but let's try and give him a chance to implement his system...whatever it may be.

He's been on the staff since 2010. You don't think he knows the personnel?

And dont forget., he had a injured Danny Etling sa his QB. Give ole Steve just a decent QB and he will do magic.

You are not completely correct. LSU produced 423 total yards and 23 first downs against Florida. Critical turnovers hurt.

Nor are you completely wrong. Against Bama, the story was not good. Only 125 total yards.

ETA-- Ensminger did have offenses that set records against bad defenses... but LSU has played against bad defenses since the beginning of time. Ensminger's offenses eclipsed prior performances against bad defenses.

He was an interim. When will people learn being an interim and taking over midseason a product that's already been prepared is totally different than having to do the preparation and assembly all on your own? I hope this all works out, I really do, because I will never root for LSU to be unsuccessful. But he's had stints at full time OC jobs before and failed multiple times.

Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior. Just like O said he learned from his mistakes at Ole Miss and would let his coordinators do their jobs, he didn't do it. Canada is gone because he intervened and handcuffed him from doing what he wanted to do with the offense. Just like he did at Ole Miss. O can talk the talk, but past behavior has held true to what he's doing now. And now O is assembling a staff of his buddies that won't go against him, including Steve whose past behavior has shown he's not cut out to be an OC, and now 20 years removed from his last full time OC job he's suddenly the best man for the job?

Like I said, I hope for the best. But the realist in me doesn't like what I see an despite it all it's an embarrassment how the administration has handled all this ever since the end of 2015.

To be fair Canada didn't do a fine job even against shitty defenses.

"no scheme can overcome this."

This is not entirely true. Just this past year, LSU rushed for 190 yards on Bama and outgained them, and it was largely due to scheme.
