Up 20 in the game they were eliminated vs Ga. Tech who ended up in the final 4. No excuse Dale Brown blew it
Hey bro, Happy Thanksgiving.

My opinion on that season is a lot different, I take up for it a lot --- but I get the angst. Saying LSU should have won the NC (not you) is very simplistic because we had a good team.

CJ was 2nd season, Shaq 1st. First time and only season they played together at LSU - CJ went NBA, Shaq played 2 more years.

I digress, teams were stacked. Look who was national freshman of the year, it wasn't Shaq.

quote:

ACC Player of the Year Dennis Scott, National Freshman of the Year Kenny Anderson, and Brian Oliver – the Yellow Jackets were ACC tournament champions and reached the 1990 Final Four.

Now everyone needs to look at that UNLV team, that won the NC. Google that team. No one is beating that team unless they decide to mail it in or take a bribe.

Teams were stacked.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too bro. I was mainly talking about blowing the 20 point lead in that second round game. I think they get to the final 4 if they finish that game. I agree with your comment on the youth of the team because back then that was a big deal. Most great teams were loaded with 3rd and 4th year stars and some even had upcoming stars on the bench so the overall levels of the top teams were just high. We were pre season #2 and should’ve at least gotten to the final 4 though.

I believe we underachieved that season, I was there. Dale was Dale.

I think '81 was our best NC possibility over people think 90 season.

Same assholes love them some Bobby Knight.

Yea, Dale was a little past it by the time he landed those ridiculous classes. Those groups were generally sloppy but they loved him and played hard for him. You could begin to see the real problems in 92 with the bad rotations and wonky lineups he began to use. Dale is the greatest coach in program history, it’s just too bad he wasn’t his best with those great classes just before the end.

My opinion --- I think Dale was getting it back together and Randy Livingston injuries derailed it all. We were about to be stacked again with Randy.

I think we’d have been just a notch below the previous groups. Randy was absolutely elite before the injuries and we had Ronnie, Ceasar and Jamie Brandon at least for one year on the perimeter but we were severely lacking up front. Gotta remember, that’s the era of those great Arkansas teams, great Kentucky teams and you had a very good group at Bama with Caffey, Mcdyess and Rodgers as well. I think they’re a 20 win type team but I don’t know if they would’ve competed for SEC titles like CJ and Shaq did.

Amazing Video! I trying to teach my 9 year old how to step into the pass and shoot just like this what a great video to show new jump shooters. They all want to shoot the three with no technique. Practice the mid range and the three will follow.

Going through the exact same thing

Yeah, but that backcourt would have been lights out if we got to see in in full.

Yea and with Randy that first year you probably get the Mardi Gras win vs Kentucky, you probably win the game at Arky then who knows how that affects the rest of the season. That first year with Brandon and Caesar still there you have a shot.

Hey man, how many "MBB" posters on TD do you think know when we play the next game and what time that game is without looking it up?

My guess is ~20.

Shaq was actually 18-18 from the FT line in his last game for us. A second round tournament loss to Indiana.
