Let me throw a bit of a military perspective on this...
A&M is one of the seven military colleges, the largest in a group that includes VMI, Citadel, Norwich, North Georgia, and Virginia Tech...
they have real penis envy with Texas (from a Louisiana viewpoint, who cares), but they did not stay a strictly military school like VMI or Citadel, nor did they evlove like Virgina Tech (which if we can ever grow the LSU Corps of Cadets up to around 400 would be model to emulate)
throw in the bizzaro world-view that is Texas and being in the middle of nowhere and you have the Aggies....
one other thing...the class ring isn't an Aggie thing, it's a military thing....you want to see weird...look for an engagement that's a miniture of a West Point or Annapolis ring!!!

It's funny that the only guy that shows up to defend their team reinforces what everyone else is saying.
I do know one chick that went to a&m who was almost normal, but even she said that everyone in college station was fn weird.

Yeah, I think if you took a random sampling of opinions from all over this country, most everone would say that's some strange stuff. Kinda corny, kinda homosexual, and very odd.
What's sad Mike, and I say this as an LSU grad, is that the kids over here in Texas go to OU, KU, Arky and LSU when they can't get into A&M and U.Tex. It didn't used to be that way and folks should be a lot more concerned about that than the Aggie traditions.

Actually, College Station is a nice place. The campus architecture is modern and spread out but it is a lot safer and cleaner than Baton Rouge. Plus, they have a Presidential Library. Do we? Also, get off the truck thing. Trucks are the vehicle of choice in Texas not just at A$M. I have lived close to CS for ten years and fly my LSU flag proudly. I will be at the game and will treat their (weird) traditions with respect.

I fully agree with that, but odd is still odd. Tulane is a wonderful academic institution, but it's full of some odd ducks as well. That being said, attaining an engineering degree from A&M is something to be desired. It's difficult to argue with it being a very desirable institution.

I will shite all over their traditions with homosexual jabs and cult like insults.........
I will also enjoy their shite talking and delusion.....
I will also enjoy Johnny Football becoming Johnny Knoxville for 4 quarters in a skit called "Playing qb against LSU's D."
frick a presidential Library.........We have a real fricking Tiger.

And that, ladys and gentlemen, is how that's done!

They are delusional. Always make excuses and find explanations for failures. Listening to an avid A&M fan you would think they have won 50 national championships and were cheated out of 50 others.
This has got to be a Bear Bryant thing. Had to be a development after he left Kentucky.

In the 80's we had a bus trip from Houston to the game, a mixed bag of aggies & Tigers, all clients of a law firm. As the bus parked in a grass lot, a mid to late 20's aggie alum pushed his way to the front of the bus, jumped out the door, knelt on the grass & literally kissed the grass, proclaiming how great it was to be back on hallowed ground. A bit of the extreme to be sure but it did happen & none of the other aggies even blinked. You can only imagine what the Tiger fans had to say. And get ready to get really sick of hearing "HOWDY", as every aggie fan will yell that at you as you walk round the campus/stadium.

3 of them look like they could all be related to each other. They have that "look".
they really do. I don't know what it is... the crew cut? the 80's style eyeglasses? the long sleeve plaid shirt and wrangler jeans and boots? the class ring? socially awkward personality?
maybe its all these things. but it there is something to those guys.
